65 y/o Dennis Finley, a Conservative Editor for Vermont's largest newspaper is FIRED after he tweeted that offering a third gender choice on state driving licenses was "one step closer to the APOCALYPSE"!!

He's been executive editor for the Burlington Free Press since 2016 and will now have to write for his own blog after he gave his opinion when the DMW announced it's getting a new system to allow a 3rd option for people who identify as male or female.

He retweeted with a sarcastic "awesome!. That makes us one step closer to the apocalypse"

The old kook attracted fierce criticism for many who accused him of being prejudiced against transgender people.

Ellen O'Neil said "Having a 3rd gender option allows for a group of real people with real emotions feel like they belong. What's not awesome is your narrow mindness."

Nick Nuckle said "Since when does the bfp hire from their comments section trolls? You can go ahead and take a dip in the lake, buddy"

Others warned that they would not buy a paper if Finley is still employed with them as one reader said "Is this the kind of person you want on your team?"

The owner said that Finley had been fired for violating the company's social media guidelines as the Associated Press asked him to comment on his tweet but did not respond.

There are only two genders. If you think differently, you are wrong, and honestly shouldn't be allowed to vote or have children, because you are actually toxic to the future of the human race. And I mean this as objectively as possible: You are creating danger for the survival of this species.

Binary is exclusive in its universal design. Male and female fittings for cabling and plugs. Binary logic gates in a processor (1/0 "on"/"off".) You can't be "half on", it is either "on" or "off." There will never be an inbetween. That's not how the world works. I'm sorry. I 100% support gay marriage. (Or as I like to call it, marriage.) I don't personally agree with trans-gender surgery (because I don't think God makes mistakes), but I will die for your right to do whatever you want to your body. If I don't like transgender surgery, I just won't get transgender surgery. I'm totally all for all of that. But just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it true. Human life exists in a binary arrangement of DNA, fittings, and hormones in order to procreate and continue the species. You can't just get high and start making up things that don't exist. There are two, and there will always be two, and that's just too damn bad if that frustrates you. Science doesn't give a shit about you and your feelings. I hate to come off so nasty on this subject, but like I said before, the intentional spreading of ignorance is literally dangerous to the future of our species, and that shit needs to be nipped in the bud.

I used to be like him, sort of. I was quite adamant in my position that there were only two genders and that all the other shit is stupid. I still sort of think that the other shit is stupid, but it doesn't matter, because my opinion doesn't matter. People are going to do what they're going to do, and if doing that makes them happy (and doesn't hurt anyone else or themselves), then I'm happy for them.

I don't think people realize that the gender on personal identification is a security feature. It's one of the ways to confirm that the person using your identity is you. If you change it to something that an outside observer wouldn't agree on then you're essentially making your ID not yours.

A driver's license doesn't include one's gender preference. It includes one's biological gender. One can change, the other does not.

You cant just say that people can make up a gender and it has to be recognized. If you wanna say you are a Woodkin and hang out with other people that say they are Woodkin then you do that it is your life, but you shouldnt expect anyone else to acknowledge that nonsense.

Sex refers to the phenotype resulting from your sex-chromosomes. Gender is a personality thing that is perhaps affected by your sex, but otherwise completely separate from it.

I dont think its as bad as they seem to but yes its a bad idea because men and women are just different. We cant have the same medicine or doses and some treatments are different and some laws are different (men cant work at YMCA daycare section or go to Chuck E. Cheeses alone, women in general are treated poorly not taken seriously and threatened frequently). Add in a third and then what? You definitely cant say something like they cant work at the daycare or your career is Down the drain even though its already established that only women can, due to the high number of rapes and assaults that have happened at the YMCA and other youth programs.

(Also you need to assume a criminals gender for the police! I cant see someone commit a crime and say Xhe did this)

Yes, and there-in lies the confusion. Two different concepts that for historic reasons have the same word applied to them. Gender originally was a synonym for sex, than psychology defined a concept related to the sense of self, separate from sex and called it gender.

It is like the confusion between state marriage and religious marriage, they are two separate things that may resemble eachother, but due to word confusion people tend to get all up in arms when changes to one are made, thinking changes are also made to the other.
