While that may be true, it doesn't really lessen the fact that she was hurt by somebody being needlessly careless. Being very careless is a pattern with Sasha.

NXT Sasha had the benefit of Sara Del Ray as a match agent and getting to rehearse every big one a lot. Once she got to the main roster and didn't have those luxuries any more, her work suffered immensely.

Sasha has had good matches. Lot of em even.

But I feel like her random throwaway matches are garbo where she's basically just trying to get a bunch of contrived shit in.

Which pretty much plays into the Sara Del Ray theory I guess. If she had a good agent who actually cared helping with every match she was in she'd probably be good all the time.

Jordan as Angle's son is the clear winner here.

Angles that make being a wrestling fan embarrassing, something you have to explain, or defend, or justify, should always win polls like this.

You could argue that for individual moments of Wyatt/Orton and Balor/Wyatt (that sister Abigail segment should have won this) but the very concept of Jordan-as-illegitimate-son is the same tier of soap opera garbage that Brie and Nikki's feud is on.

Meanwhile a huge, muscular guy being champ, someone who is actually capable of working a match, looks credible, and got some decent heat is nowhere near the worst thing to happen. One of those things that make people look down on smarks I think - the people who voted for Jinder's reign to win that have let themselves down imo. Putting Mahal's reign essentially on the same level of Arquette is laughable, and history will not bear out that comparison at all.

Jinder is a victim of circumstance. WWE has its best roster from top to bottom in history, had 5-10 other better people ready made to hotshot some guy who never had a high profile, or even a semi-main event match (outside of NXT), just to pop some country...

When the good things to come out of the experiment were things OTHER than the wrestler, you're doing it wrong. Jinder's entrance is awesome, the Singh's are awesome, and Jinder has some charisma. He just has little else to justify screwing over Harper's momentum from the winter, giving Zayn or Rusev (wtf was the MITB build for) their first world title shots, or just saying, "KO is the main event heel, easy pick." Vince made a shitty pick, and Smackdown paid for it.

And in fairness if you took a still image of Khali you could say that for him too, but he couldn't really work a proper match. Mahal is just mediocre in the ring, possibly worse than mediocre depending on your stance but he's not "all-time bad". Not even close.

The problem is he had to try to learn on the job. His best promo was last week AFTER losing the jingoistic crap and just saying, "I'm better than Xavier and his New Day bums." No "I look different, and you hate me." Just I am better than you, deal with it.

It's more about the burden of expectation. You can tell they were expecting things from Strowman (and Corbin pre-cash in fuck up). The crowd can at least say, "We get it." With Jinder, you had the entire crowd shitting themselves. It could have been a one-month transitional thing and still carried a, "Well, it was dumb, but whatever." Jack Swagger type reign. Forgettable, but not cringeworthy Instead, it turned into six months of the same match.

Also, the Nakamura feud is definitely enough to place Jinder in contention. That was racist, dumb, boring, lazy outdated writing performed by a guy whose voice randomly cracked, which all of it was content that no one cared for. I swear the only thing I liked about a Jinder promo was a Pikachu reference...except when I realized he said, "Pikachu with a seizure."

I give WWE credit for trying someone new. But that's about it.

Jinder deserved it IMO (the award, not the world title). Dude was a jobber in the months leading up to Backlash. Then upon winning the belt, he only won one match clean, against Tye Dillinger. I understand heels are supposed to cheat, but it got redundant when Jinder was having the Singh brothers interfere every. single. time. Even the win over Corbin wasn't clean since Corbin was distracted by Cena.

He somehow failed to have a good match with Nakamura and they gave him two chances to do so; also his promos on Nakamura were some of the year's worst. He had three bad matches with Orton (one of them I blame WWE for because the Punjabi Prison has always been hilariously bad. Even the Batista/Khali one was tolerable at best).

It's also the heavy-handedness of it all. Built in, Jinder could have said, "No one gave me an opportunity. But now that I have, and now that I have backup, you WILL respect me." It wouldn't make the matches better, but his anti-American schtick really failed to capture attention. He's not an athletic freak like Rusev, who also had Lana talk for him (which was a different package...and obviously better looking). He also wasn't a "chosen one" like the Rollins and Owens (also shit) title runs, so we're supposed to take Jinder as a threat somehow.

Let's just say this: once Jinder was put in the US title hunt, all I read and heard online was, "Good. That's perfect. That's where he should have STARTED!" No one is saying he can't win a world title again. He should just...get better first.

The obvious historical comparison to Jinder is JBLs title run.

Both were pretty bad, but in the end JBLs served a purpose, to launch Cenas main event career.

The Jinder Experiment made the title scene awful for fewer months than JBL did, but accomplished next to nothing.
