I see a lot of commentators on Youtube talk about these issues constantly, and its starting to get really grating.

On a day to day basis, I don't really care what race or gender you are. I guess I am in the vast minority of people who think this. I don't think it affects every day life, and that most people are just racist, bigoted people who can't see people different to them as equals.

I don't think you're the only one by far, most people probably don't care about race and gender. I do think people are obsessed with it to a point where their minds are in the "racial gutter". But I don't think its the norm.

Identity politics requires making a bigger deal out of everything just to have something to talk about. Realistically speaking, equality of opportunity (on the basis of race and gender anyway) was achieved a while ago so the conversation had to shift to equality of outcome, which is an impossible standard and ensures that there will always be room for complaints. The vast majority of bad policy comes from trying to rig outcomes, such as discrimination against Asians (and to a lesser extent whites) in higher education because of a natural achievement gap. The end result is that Asians and whites *frequently* lie about their ancestry (#GoofyElizabethWarren) because otherwise they can't get through the system -- and, of course, because this is taking place, *actual* individuals of that ancestry are still being excluded anyway.

Definitely. I am a big proponent of equality of opportunity, but I am not a proponent of equality of outcome (or any communist-esque theory). Also very good example you gave. I hate how it is mandated by law for employers to ask your gender and ethnicity when applying.

I can see how race might matter, but not gender. After 24 (TWENTY FOUR) years of interacting with women, I've still never had one show me their vagina (despite frequent and regular interactions with some of them), so it's not like it would affect my behaviour. After all, if I treat them just as well (and often better), than I do men (for the sake of vaginas I literally do not see), then obviously being a female isn't a detriment to their life (and is arguably, ARGUABLY beneficial). So when I see feminists (or *snickers* "feminazis") try and make me, a nice guy VIRGIN white male, feel guilty for treating females equally or better than men, I can only shake my head.

You're not going to get one on words you typed, go show it by your actions.

The reason people are discussing race and gender inequality is because they have empathy. They see violences and injustices in the society and they recognize that it's okay to call it out.

When white people tell me they don't see color, it's a little bit disheartening. It means they don't see some of the things that happen to minorities in our society based on the color of their skin.

In practice, a whole lot of people do, and cause considerable harm by doing so, which makes it necessary to oppose that.

Well, gender can a be a useful differentiator concerning physical ability although size can also be an independent indicator. Unless we're also injecting women with estrogen-blockers or something to make them equal.

It's the same for me. Those are harmless differences. All I see is the human race, and I pay attention to gender pretty much only for health issues. One of my quotes is "There is no such thing as gender, race, intelligence, creed, physical traits, or social class, but there is such thing as personality. We need to plunge the surface: the interior is more important."

Most people don't really seem to care about race and gender. Myself included. But it doesn't mean it's not something that pops up a lot. Because people who do care try to make a big deal out of it.
