Dark Signer arc is p much the reason to watch the show

5Ds goes on too long after the defining arc, Arc-V is like one real big thing but it suffers from first padding and then rushing

If by "spotty", you mean it had some of the worst episodes in the history of all of anime, then yeah. That's not an exaggeration either. On the biggest Japanese anime streaming site, Nico Nico, 9 of the 10 lowest-rated anime episodes on the entire site are from the last half of Arc-V. The only one that isn't an Arc-V episode is only on there because it originally aired without visuals due to technical problems, and some of the Arc-V episodes are still rated worse. 24 minutes of a black screen was still considered more enjoyable than some episodes of Arc-V. Seriously, if you absolutely must watch it, stop at like 90 episodes. For the love of Ra, don't subject yourself to that awful final season.

Of those, I'm only really familiar with Pokemon. The Diancie and Hoopa movies are probably the worst of the lot you have there.

Is it the last like ten episodes? Because I'd agree that the WTF ending is a huge slap in the face and the last Yuya v Reiji is atrocious but by spotty I meant that I thought the show picked itself up a little after the rushed Xyz arc besides the silly Battle Beast stuff. Like, it wasn't a great show anymore, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit because it has a fun and well designed main cast Yuri/pre-assembled Zarc is a fun villain

Also good soundtrack, better than what VRAINS had so far (though I am not caught up on VRAINS but I doubt it gets fantastically better) and many of the openings and endings are fuckin lit
