Could you have seen this actor be the next James Bond?

This 49 y/o Actor is currently promoting a big budget movie but he revealed that he TURNED DOWN a prominent role of James Bond as the movie producors were preparing for the end of Daniel Craig who plans to leave the role after one more film.

He turned down the role of James Bond and went against the advice of his doctor to do the new movie instead as it might affect his vocal chords..and apparently underwent surgery to remove skin cancers!!

The new movie which releases tomorrow was a passion project for him as the tony award winning actor had always dreamed of working on musicals and said it was a remarkable sacrifice to get this movie made and to turn down James Bond..

He also exited the role of a famous Marvel character but may return now that Disney is bringing both universes together...

He was approached by MGM and Annapura and offered the role to him but turned it down. Sony was the original distributer but their rights for the film elapsed and MGM went with a new partner for US distribution.

Could you see this actor play James Bond? let's see what people think

Bullshit. They'd never make an Aussie into Bond and he's too damn old as it is.

I would only care if he played the role of Wolverine as James Bond.

But I wasn't a fan of most of the Daniel Craig bond movies so I don't really care.

i read about this, and iirc jackman would have accepted if they allowed him some say so in how the future bond films would be made but they said no. Jackman probably likes doing that stuff because iirc he was one of the exec. producers on the 3 standalone wolverine movies

I do get irritated when they scream about not letting non-Brits play Bond given how happy British actors are to take iconic American roles.

But they already did on both accounts with George Lazenby, and Sean Connery was 52 or 53, depending on when it was filmed, in Never Say Never Again.

Sean Connery was Scottish...

Never mind, I misread that you meant about the age. To be fair though, I dont think the stunts at that time were as dangerous or intense.

Never Say Never Again was what, Connery's sixth or seventh Bond film? This would be like Connery starting Dr. No at 52 and then playing Bond from a nursing bed by his last film.

And Lazenby is about as legit as David Niven. They're not real Bonds.

Roger Moore only started playing Bond at 46. And saying Lazenby wasn't a 'legit' Bond just seems like a half-assed way of saving face from being proven wrong that they wouldn't hire an aussie. Frankly he was a better Bond than Moore, Dalton or Brosnan.
