Why spend the energy creating the Universe and humanity if the latter has just pissed him off for virtually all of it's existence? What is in it for him?

If he created humans with free will and set up the requirements to get into heaven opposing basic human nature... Might he need a specific type of person for a specific task? Since he demonstrated his greatest feats (by far) before there were any worshipper's for him, I doubt he needs prayer to sustain himself.

Maybe he's like collecting soldiers for some specific battle against a transdimensional threat? Then again, angels have free will as well and would make far better soldiers, especially since they could be mass produced. Maybe the nature of a human, living a human life imparts something to the soul angelic creatures lack?

I just find it hard to believe the point of heaven is just to sit in happiness forever and ever, like what would the point even be? There has to be more to it than that, ya know?

If you're referring to the God of the Bible, you make the mistake of assuming he created humans with a free will. Very few passages in the Bible support the notion that man has autonomous free will and can please God of his own accord.

Also, if you think heaven is going to consist of people sitting on their butts for eternity then it's no wonder why people find the idea to have very little appeal.

If God didn't create humans with free will, how can punishing or rewarding them for their actions be justified? What is the point in creation at all without free will? Is good verses evil the equivalent of a child making two action figures fight for his own amusement?

That's how you actuate a human. Humans can't choose to ignore appropriate punishment and reward, so when the appropriate one is given, the expected response occurs.

I might be misunderstanding you, but in a normal case that might be right... Not so much when the punishment is going to Hell for the rest of time, what response could one hope for? Infinite pain on the part of someone who had no choice to end up anywhere else, not seeing the point there since it's too late for them to change anything at that point.

Satan would obviously win that bet though.

I've been a born-again believer in Jesus Christ for almost 25 years now. Have a tattoo of the Alpha and Omega on my right arm. Here's what I've learned, after reading through the Bible a few times, cover to cover.

God most certainly has an "end game" in mind. Something that benefits him and all of humanity.

Whoever asserted that God did not create people with free will is wrong, plain and simple. We've always had that, and always will. Don't believe me? Look in the bible. What was God's first task for Adam? Tend the garden of Eden, and name all of the animals. Can somebody think of a name, or think of any kind of choice at all without some kind of free will? Of course not.

Free will gave Lucifer the choice to reject God, and become Satan. Free will is what lead Eve to believe Satan's lie, and eat the fruit of the one single tree God asked her and Adam to stay away from. Free will is what allowed Adam to choose to follow Eve's bad decision, rather than to uphold what was right. Free will is also what Jesus used when He decided to follow God's will to die for all the sins of the world, later to rise again. There are countless and countless examples of man using free will in the bible, both in good ways and bad. God created free will, and expects us to use it. We are all held accountable by free will. God is loving, but He is equally just and righteous.

Your entire life is predicated on the concept of free will. You have a choice on whether you accept God and what the bible teaches. Or you can choose to reject it and try to find meaning elsewhere.

When it comes to Heaven, the idea that all it will consist of is sitting on clouds and doing nothing is just a simple cliche. The bible talks about heavenly cities of gold, with lakes made of glass. It says that those in Heaven will finally be given complete, unending access to worship God, and to know Him intimately. It's more than the human mind could ever fully comprehend. We'll see things with new eyes, smell new smells, be far more capable of preforming new actions we can't possibly dream about now! There'll be no more sin, no more pain, no more tears. Just unending worship of the eternal being who created the entire universe and everything in it. It's more wonderful than one could possibly imagine.

This would be humanity's benefit, which I mentioned earlier. God's benefit is that He will be reunited with the only creation made in His image, fully reconnected with those whom He loves.(As for the people and angels/demons who reject God, our benefit is that they'll be fully punished for the evil they caused, and earn the judgement they've deserved for so long.)

Again, don't just take my word for it. I'm paraphrasing heavily, and have probably made a mistake or two in this post. Please read the bible for yourself, and decide what you believe.

This next exploit I'm going to be doing creates a singularity that will make a 3 and a halfish dimension universe. It's very rng dependent.

You hear about how God gave us free will a lot. You also hear about how everything always goes according to God's master plan. So like if a murderer kills someone, it's not their fault really, because they had to kill the person, all according to plan. Those two ideas don't seem to work together.

I think that's called the problem of evil...

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

There is no light without Darkness. There is no cold without hot. There was also no free will without choice. Adam had Choice. Adam had free will. He chose to receive the knowledge of Good and Evil.

Then Jesus gave us the ability to overcome the consequences of Adam's choice. Yes there is evil in the world. But we are not beholden to it. We still have a choice.
