I think it's less combing over every pixel to search for an imperfection, and more just that a woman is more likely to see a digitized female, notice the crotch being sexualized, and say "ugh that's shitty"

While this wouldn't offend me, it also makes little sense, as male players significantly outnumber female ones, and men generally respond to sexuality via visual images much more positively than women do.

BTW, most male video-game characters are pretty damn handsome and muscular, which is something women typically care about a lot more than a giant bulge or whatever.
