To be perfectly clear, this isn't a question of whether you're shy or outgoing - I'm asking if you recharge your batteries by spending time with people or spending time alone. I'm probably one of the more outgoing guys in my group of friends, but holy hell, nothing gets my mental state back to 110% like a nice day (or especially night) to myself. How about y'all?

If I'm alone for too long I go nuts. I need to be around people, even if I'm not necessarily interacting with them. Online stuff is enough to keep me from going in withdrawal, but I can't hole myself up for a long period of time.

Part of it is also that being alone makes my thoughts tank into my depression, so that energy keeps me "up."

Both. I tend to be more introverted in the winter but that's likely a result of there being less stuff to do. I still make an effort to go hang out or go do something with friends once or twice a week. When the weather is nicer it's more like four or five times a week

If you frame the question that way, I figure most people in any community will answer "introvert." Time with people is more memorable and fun, but it's also more strenuous and can take a lot out of you. Time alone is generally seen as "recharge time" for pretty much anyone.

I get energy by being around people. And I seem to be more sluggish when I'm by myself. So easily extrovert.

being around people is something I largely avoid, I'm just much more free by myself

my sister on the other hand is someone who can't stand being alone which I just can't relate to at all, but then she's also an unrestrained personality around people while I'm super reserved - unless I'm on B8 where I have zero sense of shame

although I have had friends even on here that even despite getting to know well I've been afraid to speak to at times... but that can be eased by communicating through group environments like open topics/chats where my pretense can be blended into a crowd and my words are spread out to a forum and less direct

I would describe myself as an introvert, but I guess I'm a mix.

I never feel like I need more time by myself. But the instant I'm alone I feel like a dehydrated, starving man that's just found an oasis with a free buffet.

The problem is that the more time I spend alone, the more alien I feel and the more I fear interacting with other people. Being alone and binging video games, movies and TV shows is a guilty pleasure I must indulge, or else not feel truly me

It's an interesting balance. Haven't perfected it yet

Yeah I don't really identify as either I sorta just go with the flow as far as activities go. I almost never decline to do social things but I'm not generally actively seeking them either-- so whether I come off as more extroverted or introverted depends on my environment-- how busy my friends are, etc etc. I don't really know what the whole "recharge" thing means-- don't think I've ever overdosed with extroverted or introverted activities.

Questionnaires tend to put me on the extrovert end since most of the introvert traps don't really apply to me. I'd say overall my activities probably have a slight lean towards introvert most of the time these days, though a couple of years ago that would've been different. I dunno. Gun to head I'd probably say extrovert but yeah I think the scale isn't very useful for me either way.
