As other people said I hope and wish that you lose your license. That's completely reckless and not justifiable in any way. People like you are why innocent people die. I truly hope you take that encounter to heart and never do this again. There are no excuses for your actions and you demonstrated a total selfish disregard for everyone's safety on that road with you.

I believe if you're going over double the speed limit and break a couple other laws while doing so, they can jail you. Besides, the police can jail you for no reason for upto 24 hours (as I understand it).

So I was Googling, and found this:
Under a little-noticed Pennsylvania State Police decision in 2012, Philadelphia police officers lost the authority to cite drivers for speeding on interstate highways in the city.

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/real-time/Suit-Philly-cops-improperly-issuing-speeding-tickets-on-highways.html

I wonder if that's why he didn't give me a ticket! I can't remember if he was Philadelphia police or not.

If it's not something like that it makes no sense you'd at least get a ticket. Fuck all the other arguments or how you look/what your race is - when you're going that much over the speed limit, that's a hell of a fine. And the city/state/county always loves to cash in. Only other factor would be if you literally have no record of tickets/jail.

Pretty sure that is changing soon. (In the legal process) But local cops tickets cannot give you points on your license for less than 10 over the speed limit if it passes.

Lmao at all the idiots itt saying "this happened".

I got clocked doing 150 in a 45 on my crotch rocket and only got ticketed for failure to obey traffic devices (only around $80 altogether on a bike, for some reason it's a bigger fine in a car?). Also a PA state trooper. If I can find my SD card then I might be able to post the GoPro video of it (hidden camera on the bike, obv didn't film it with a helmet can lol)

But anyways, yes it actually happens. You just have to be extremely lucky. Once you're speeding past a certain point some cops won't ticket you for it sometimes because it will basically ruin your life.

Super lucky TC. If he wrote out that ticket, most states require a license suspension for going over 100 MPH when caught speeding. Most offenders luck out with the cop putting the recorded speed as 99 MPH so that you get a hefty fine but no license suspension.

This. Count your blessings and don't tempt fate again lol. My 150 in a 45 was the last time I ever raced someone on a major highway. The fucked up part is I was winning the race too, so the dudes I was racing had a chance to see the light bar go off and they just blew through the red light when i came to a stop and it was too late to run because he already saw my plates. I bought a bond bike plate the next day lol

You'd have to know the municipality, but it could very well have been VASCAR. Municipal police can't cite for speed on interstates, though, that's correct. Doesn't mean he couldn't hit you with reckless driving or, at the least, 3111A failure to obey traffic control signals.

If it were a Trooper, you'd have been fucked.
