I got pulled over and ticketed for driving without a fucking seatbelt.

If you get pulled over driving 25+ over they take you to jail.

Pretty hard to believe but I also dont get the point of making this up. Sounds like you got pretty lucky.

Why is that unbelievable? He really did that. If it matters, I was wearing a button down shirt with dress pants and shoes, with a dress jacket hanging in the back seat window. He probably didn't see me as a threat.

Another poster pointed out that it must have been cold, and it was, indeed, literally freezing (since it was lightly snowing).

i think it was $120. i was on the opposite side of the road and he claimed I blinded him

as to why I had them on, I was dumb and thought it was an engine light. i was new to driving back then. i also got pulled over a couple years later for going 53 in a 45, straight ticket no warning. meanwhile dudes are going 50 in a school zone and cops just slap em on the hand. goddamn, they'd throw me in fuckin alcatraz if i tried that shit

The last thing a fucking cop wants on their watch is for a driver to get out of the car on an active highway and get nailed by another car. That's why cops always park a little bit closer to the lane -- to serve as a shield of sorts in case a passing car drifts too close..

I exited to local roads, and pulled over to a parking lot. I did not pull over on the highway, because I felt that was too dangerous.
