I agree Final Fantasys best protags are Cecil and Firion and Tidus

And of course Lightning for tsking the squall/cloud thing and using it to whale on snow.

Though really Firion (and Vaan) are just my smfffc projects, I don't actually like them more than Zidane but FFIX is gonna have to lose everything for a while before I want to see it do it well again.

even though his best moment in the game is when he's most like Cloud and Squall but hey

It's a literal call back to Cloud's Identity Crisis but both moments are good

I would maybe put Zidane at the 6 or 7 among FF leads. Hes strong enough in game and having steal almost the entire game is nice but he doesnt seem to grow the way other protagonists in the series do, like Ramza or Tidus for example

And every battle gravy would be like "Zidane goes trance and kills some fools" and everyone would be like "no he doesn't because [he dies before building a full trance bar / he wouldn't be emotional in the right way to produce trance / psycho drive doesn't count as trance / also Zidane sux]" and gravy would blow a fuse
