Basically, there are 50 challenges outlined below that will require you to beat 52 games total. This isn't a competition and there's no prize for winning aside from a sense of accomplishment. This is just a fun thing to participate in while we all work through our video game libraries. It also gives us a place to discuss what we're playing. Feel free to join in! I've been hearing how great the series is from Board 8 for nearly a decade at this point, so the trilogy was one of the first things I bought when I got my 3DS nearly two years ago. I really like the concept of the game, but I don't think I like playing it very much. Maybe it's the genre that just isn't for me, but I found myself dreading having to go through the puzzle aspects and the evidence gathering in order to get to the story dumps and trial aspects, which I found a lot of fun. It took me nearly two years to finally get through this because I kept getting burnt out from playing it. I recognize how good it is, but I just don't think it's very fun. At the beginning of the year I figured there was no way I'd be able to fully complete this. 50 games in a calendar year is something that I've never done before, even in my childhood days of gaming 6+ hours a day, but I somehow managed to pull it off (with the help of a good chunk of short experiences). Game #50 is Nier: Automata. This'll be the last "beatable" game I play before the new year, and it's almost certainly my GOTY. I achieved all main endings, finished nearly every sidequest, and then got the platinum trophy after purchasing some of the grindier trophies that I wasn't interested in doing myself. I don't really even know where to start with this game, so I won't. I will say that it continued to surprise me and throw things at me that I wasn't expecting for the entire 28 hours I spent with it.
