glad I took a chance on Marshawn Lynch today

of course he's still got a ways to go to make up for me benching Morris for him but it's a start

Despite losing 5 weeks in a row in one of my leagues, it looks like I'm going to finish 7-6 along with about 5 other teams, which means there will be 6 of us tied for the final 3 playoff spots.

The only instance of me getting into one of those spots is if a specific match-up goes my way. Right now the team I need to win is projected to win by 5 points, so that's what it comes down to.

Started 0-6 in one of my leagues. Still going to make the playoffs and in the last 3 weeks I've scored the highest score out of anyone so am entering the playoffs as a low seed but likely favored against anyone

Making the playoffs in all 4 of my leagues though. Played fantasy football for 4 years now and I've never missed out on the playoffs. This looked like the year it would happen!

I only play one league. I tried playing two leagues one year and didn't really enjoy it.

I tend to alternate making and missing the playoffs every year, so this is the year I miss, it seems.

Yeah 4 is for sure too many. One of my leagues I don't care about though as it isn't a money league.

I think 3 is the sweet spot for me. Next year I might dropout of the non money league because they are non-PPR and give bonus points to QBs too. It sucks, there was 2 WRs in the top 40 scorers when i checked but they don't see it as an issue. I hate it as WRs are irrelevant and RBs and QBs generally don't see much waiver wire movement due to being all tied up. So the waiver wire is dull and matches are low scoring because most WRs score low single digits

Two leagues is the sweet spot for me. It's not too difficult to focus on two waiver wires and match-ups at once, but anything more would be kind of tough if you play like I do where I'm constantly keeping up with things.

Two is also good because if one of your teams manages to have a disaster of a season, you still have a reason to stay relevant in fantasy.

The hardest part of multiple leagues is when they have different scoring systems. And all 4 of my leagues do.

The funnest league I'm in is one that did away with defence and instead you play 2 defensive players. And we changed the scoring so that they would score in line with WRs and RBs. So Bobby Wagner is the number 1 player right now with 226 points, Antonio Brown has 268 for reference. So there's always tons available on the waiver wire and defensive players tend to have boom or bust potential

Man the Ravens are actually gonna be a playoff team aren't they

With the Bills loss and who knows if Tyrod will be healthy to play, yeah, I dunno who else is even in contention now. AFC feels kinda wrapped up unless the Ravens just never win another game

which could happen who knows

the playoff machine is showing the Ravens beat the Bills in a tiebreaker, but i believe the Bills actually win that. if they tied at 9-7, they'd have the same conference record. and assuming the Ravens two losses aren't both to the Steelers and Browns, and the Bills win all the non-Patriots games, they'd have the same record in common games as well (they'd both be 4-1 against the Dolphins, Raiders, Bengals, Colts). so it'd come to strength of victory in which the Ravens have two wins against the winless Browns. i have to think the Bills win that.

although really the AFC Wild Card is technically wide open, but you just can't see most of these crappy teams putting together a serious charge

The friggin' Dolphins are only two games out and they had a point differential comparable to the Browns before today

maybe, but there was a player on the Texans named Danieal Manning who started 13 games. i didn't check whether he started during the Giants' bye that year.

Didn't get to see it live so only saw it now but Jets/Chiefs sure was a "game."

it had everything

jets allowing themselves to get burned by long td passes about 4 times. if you broaden it to "long passes" the number increases to like 26
alex smith rush for 70 yards
jets converting on 9th and goal
a flag thrown into the stands

So I did some playoff machine tinkering

Atlanta/Carolina were playing each other for the last spot in the NFC.

The more interesting thing is I just noticed while we were all assuming 8 wins would probably get a wild card in the AFC just a few weeks ago, both my wild card winners have 10, despite having both the Ravens and Jags losing next week...

Though the Ravens have an insanely favorable last three games. At Cleveland, vs. Indy, vs. Cincinnati.

Have the Jags losing to the Seahawks and Titans, but beating the Texans and 49ers.

How did this happen?

Also why does Minnesota still want to bench Keenum so badly that they're waiting for him to have one bad game so they could throw in Bridgewater, even though we know he's nothing special?

Is Ziggy Wilf really this dumb?

Oh wait isn't it Zygi? Or am I high

Minnesota is currently #1.

With Case Keenum as QB.

And an owner that desperately wants to bench him for someone who's never been that good.

IT MAKES NO SENSE.

It's amazing that anyone would want to bench keenum after the last few weeks. He is playing very very solid quarterbacking and making almost no mistakes. As long as he continues to do that, there is almost no way for the vikings to lose a game.
