Kings are deceptively getting better. This road trip was 2-2 but was very close to also beating Cleveland and the bucks. We're figuring things out and they're competing at a very high level right now. Happy to see growth.

Figures we hit our easier part of the schedule and the injuries pile up. We are now without Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Johnathan Isaac and Terrance Ross. We don't have anywhere near the depth to cover for that

Well, Detroit was clearly overachieving and now they're coming back to earth. If you knew before the season that they'd be tied for 6th at this point of the season, you'd probably be happy with that. It's just that they took a weird route to get there.

Orlando has that too. they've regressed to the mean, I think as everyone kind of figured when they were shooting like crazy, and now it feels disappointing instead of "yeah, that makes sense."

injuries are a thing too, of course, but they would fall back regardless of that. the important thing there is that Gordon is totally legit.

But that's kind of the problem. A mediocre team playing mediocre basketball for an entire season you'd be like "well ok then."

To get off to a good start and knock off teams like the Warriors and Celtics along the way and generally playing like a good basketball team in the first 20 games of the season. They were solid defensively, they had good movement on offense, they were hitting their shots.

I honestly would have rather we were just awful and started a full rebuild because we punted on paying KCP by acquiring Avery Bradley, and now we have to decide how much we want to go into the luxury tax for the sake of keeping together a team that's gonna barely be above .500.

That's why it's depressing.

Honestly we should not lose for the rest of the year. The schedule is weak until January 5th, the only real games of notes being multiples with Denver and Portland.

Beating the Mavs by 5 isn't really impressive though. We've been stuck at this "3-5 games over .500" area for a while now and I don't like it.
