So... Rotten Tomatoes is delaying the reveal of Justice League's Tomato score an additional day. This is presumably for two reasons

1) Rotten Tomatoes has a new TV show they are debuting where they reveal tomato scores. Show is called See It/Skip It and revealing a highly anticipated movie's score for their debut episode is a good marketing strategy.

2) Warner Bros is a minority owner of Rotten Tomatoes parent company.

Both reasons suck and it seems pretty not cool at all that WB has a stake in Rotten Tomatoes.

Anyway guess the Tomatometer score! My guess is 40%.

I probably have more resentment towards Suicide Squad than the average person because Arrow basically had to scrap their GOOD version of it due to the movie and the movie literally only even used 1 of the same characters for more than 10 seconds. It was basically the Suicide Duo + extras :(

I'm actually most surprised that Suicide Squad and Batman vs Superman are so close in scores

"You're the first person I've seen who liked that movie" applies to BvS but I've seen a few Suicide Squad fans. Like I would've guessed Suicide Squad was more "mixed" than "panned"

Suicide Squad is the one I was talking about above, and I might say I'm more critical of it than some others because I adore editing and cinematography in film. Suicide Squad has one of the worst, if not the worst, editing jobs I've seen done for a movie. Or at least a big budget, big deal movie.

Suicide Squad is like ok if you just ignore everything that isn't Will Smith being Will Smith and Harley. As a team movie it's pretty poor and the villain is awful regardless

I maintain that Suicide Squad is a potentially great movie that was edited horribly. The pieces felt like they were all there, but they were just put together really sloppily.

BvS on the other hand is a completely irredeemable shit heap.

The big problems with Suicide Squad were it was too ambitious, and didn't really play to its strengths.

It's like, they wanted bad guy version of the avengers. Okay, cool idea, bro. However

1. No one would watch any movie featuring most of them as the lone featured character, so we start by skipping all the component movies that the Avengers had and trying to mash all the character stories into 2 minutes a piece.
2. Despite being bad guys, they don't have a script that really makes them out to be bad guys. Like that whole scene where they're all down in the bar and they get moved by an inspirational speech-- it's like WHAT? There's a compelling story to be told if you simply have them inadvertently save the day while they're trying to take their town back from the witch.

Like have a buddy cop film with Will Smith and Harley Quinn assembling a task force to beat the Witch because she's going to destroy the world and that would stop them from causing mayhem or whatever would be great. Probably not true to the comics but who cares. You could maybe have a government agency capture them at the end of the film to try and merge the continuities a bit.

Most of them couldn't get away with a standalone movie yes, but I 100% think a Deadshot movie starring Will Smith could and people would go see a Harley movie too. The rest would be box office disasters most likely even if they got good reviews

i think a justice league movie sounds awesome, but the more i see from this movie the more i think it's going to suck.

flash trying way too hard to be funny (and failing), gal gadot being flat and unconvincing, aquaman being a stupid dudebro... no thanks.

I just don't like the look of the movie at all. Like there is something about the aesthetic of it that I just don't like and I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. I've previously said it looks "fake" but I feel like there's more to it than that

avengers was 2012 so DC/WB is like "oh god we're 5 years late get that movie out."

at least they're doing better than the dark universe, i guess. they got more than 1 movie out before their universe fell apart!

All you do is take a sure-fire winning idea like literally Batman fighting Superman and add all the build to Justice League to that.

The whole planning of this thing was horrendously fucked. And it wouldn't be so bad but the way it affected BvS, which could have been amazing (because, again, Batman fighting Superman is box office), is absolutely unforgivable.

I mean I know very little about the DC comic universe or the movie industry, but I'm pretty sure all the Average Joes of the world could plan out a better DC movie line than what we're getting. I mean nobody would even really care if DC just used the same formula Marvel used, but they apparently didn't want to do that for whatever reason. At least they're killing it in tv shows, but holy shit they have tons of the biggest superhero names in the world and are giving us slop for movies for the most part

I feel like wasting the Justice League as a build to Batman vs Superman, while probably less stupid than what happened with the reverse, is still kind of a huge waste.

All of my money for Samuel L Jackson John Stewart (even though I'm not sure he fits best)

That said I do think the bubble on superhero movies might burst just a little bit after Infinity War.

When you build towards something for a decade like that, everything afterwards is surely going to feel like some kind of comedown. The weight of the Universe is already starting to strain things I think.

So maybe they were right to try and play catchup rather than put all the long-term planning into Justice League only to get to its release in, say, 2020 and find a smaller market to work in. They might get more money releasing now than if they waited, even if the movie ends up being worse.

I mean I certainly don't think these superhero movies are going to pull in this level of money forever. And I wouldn't be surprised if Infinity War is a bit of a turning point.
