Theres been a lot of discussion around the amount of in-game credits (and time) it takes to unlock some of our heroes, especially Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. Unlocking a hero is a great accomplishment in the game, something we want players to have fun earning. We used data from the beta to help set those levels, but its clear that more changes were needed.

Judging by their stock prices this year I don't think the loot boxes have anything to do with offsetting costs. All that extra money is going straight into their wallets.

The "other test" was the EA early access trial, the 10 hours people can play early. It was literally people who bought the game, subscribed to EA, and started playing early. Customers were already playing the game, buying loot crates, and starting their grind to unlock Vader and Luke. The outrage absolutely mattered.

It will be interesting to see how people react to this. Hopefully they keep pushing for change, but I suspect things will die down now that people feel like they've been given a "good deal."

Ah, turns out there's actually an okay reason why the campaign reward was reduced. When you completed the campaign before, you used to get 20K credits, which would give people the ability to unlock Iden in multiplayer. Since they reduced the cost to unlock her to 5K, they also reduced the campaign reward to match.

I feel like this would have been avoided if they just made the campaign unlock Iden instead of handing you credits to unlock her. They still need to address the amount of credits you earn per match though.

EA buys out all the good companies and runs their games into the ground. This is why I refuse to buy any of their games. There are PLENTY of other games I enjoy playing and it's not difficult at all to avoid them. The only way to beat this model is to send a strong message to them, such as a mass boycott. They deserve the downvotes on that comment. They earned it. Total bullshit; corporate greed at its worst.

I was tempted to buy Sims 4, but it apparently isn't all that great.

Pretty sure the Sims was one of the founders of this microtransaction hell we live in anyway.

I would say Sims 2 was the peek, and that Sims 3 was worse, but not necessarily bad. The only thing I had a legitimate beef with in Sims 3 was the removal of a lot of stuff they established in Sims 2, then later putting them into expansion packs (I.E. micro-transaction hell). Add to the fact that the modding community for Sims 3 felt like a ghost town compared to the first two games and that is why it is legitimately worse. Sims 4 apparently did that as well, AND got rid of the open world aspect of the towns.

Sims 1 isn't a bad game either, just very bare bones compared to Sims 2.
