When I got to bed I usually put on something like Scrubs or Bobs Burgers or something to watch until i'm relaxed enough just roll over and doze off, usually the episodes keep going.

To answer seriously, I used to sleep to music or light hearted shows (like scrubs and bob's burgers).

I don't do that anymore though. I feel as if I sleep better when it's quiet. I do enjoy the sound of a fan going, though.

And I kinda hate when there's a light source on.

Pretty much just silence, I can't handle white noise as it tends to become my focus and prevents me from relaxing. Even something like the heater or air conditioner running distracts me from falling asleep.

Almost always just silence. Sometimes, I listen to a couple mixes of soft jazz, rain, and crackling fire when the mood is right.

I can't sleep without complete darkness and silence.

When I was a teenager living at home and had my computer in my room, I had to block the blinking light on the computer because it bothered me. Yes, I know, "close your eyes", but I swear I could still see the light through my eyelids as it blinked. Maybe I had OCD.

I like to sleep with total darkness and my white noise machine (a fan, I guess) blaring.

I can relate lol. My the window in my room at my dorm is facing the street, so I see car lights when I close my eyes and face toward the window. :/

I sleep with a night light. If it's hot, I also sleep with the fan on. Other than that, I can't sleep with anything else on.

I actually can't sleep when I have things turned on. I'm far too much of a light sleeper for that.

As dark as possible for sleep, usually. The past two months or so I've been spending a lot of nights with the girlfriend and she sleeps with all the lights in her apartment on... I was losing a lot of sleep so we compromised and now we sleep with the overhead room lights off, but two lamps on.

I really need to get myself some of those. I get really pissed when I'm woke up by the slightest noise. Even more so when it normally takes me a while to fall asleep.

A fan is ideal, but I can make do with an air conditioner or heat, or a ticking clock.

I hate dead silence. It feels "loud".

I sleep with a fan running and a boombox playing an MP3 CD filled with video game music.

Depending on how warm the room is or I expect it to be, I'll have my ceiling fan or Normal Fan on, to make sure I don't wake up hot, Otherwise, just some music, Been doing that for years now and haven't felt the need to stop....

Not deliberately. Only if I fall asleep watching TV and this is not too often - I am no TV maniac. I like to sleep in darkness and silence.

Few years ago people were breaking into cars In my buildings lot so they installed all these lights on the outside. One of them is imedieatly outside my bedroom window. It fucking sucks.

it's amazing, i used to have trouble sleeping, so i had a ritual, ok?

i had virtually quit smoking, but my body wouldn't let me sleep without a nic fix, so i would smoke a single cigarette right before bed every night.

on top of taking a half of a sleeping pill.

on top of putting in ear plugs.

on top of having an hour's worth of no-screen, relaxation time.

happy to say i've weened myself off all that shit, except the ear plugs (neighbors can be noisy at times), ok?
