No amount of peer pressure can get Heidi to break up with Cartman in an all-new episode titled Doubling Down on Wednesday, November 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.

Kyle doesnt understand why Heidi wont break up with Cartman. Hes playing with fire when he gets in the middle of the schools most talked about couple.

I guess the Little Mermaid part was when Kyle emerged in giant 3D mode with his candelablra like I'm guessing Ursula did with her trident.

Come on, I wanted Kyle to get with Heidi, it would have been great. Kyle and Cartman have been oddly more and more friendly the last few seasons so it would have caused another source of tension between them and reignite the old feud going back to their roots for the rest of the seasons and not just the episode.

Johnbobbcs ruling the roost as #1! Like ZeroSignal last year, the value of nailing the bold prediction ia paying off -- I subtracted 0.5 for there not being a Book of Mormon-like advertisement, but otherwise he crushed it. Without it though, he would still be tied for first with me and my friend TC. Niiiiiiiiiiiice.

This episode barely hit anybody's categories. My biggest surprise was realizing NOBODY predicted seeing Pence, Ryan, or McConnell in an episode this season.

It's possible! I'm gonna have to rewatch season 20 after this season to better analyze their relationship.

Gotta say, I know season 20 was a clusterfuck in the second half (some say sooner)...but I love the sense of permanent changes it and 19 (plus the style from 18) brought to the series to really revitalize it for me. Season 17 was my least favorite season, and then we bounced to a new era with some neat evolutions. It's not always a home run, but goddamn do I love to see them try again with this sense of larger urgency.

Man this was a good episode

I'm loving how they've been handling the Cartman/Heidi dynamic a lot more than I thought I would. I mean, it's painful to watch, but at the same time it's a shockingly accurate portrayal of an abusive relationship.

And given how the majority of the adult relationships in the show are unhappy ones (the Marsh's and the Broflovski's being the two biggest examples) it's actually kind of fitting.

At this point I'm thinking HaRRicH might have called them staying together accurately, though I feel like there is still a chance they'll break up in the season finale. Not before that though, and if/when that point hits, Heidi won't be the same person anymore.

I'll review the episodes later and try to get a better gauge on which ones we count as "political" episodes. I feel like we've got several maybe-episodes so having your feedback will be preferred to settle this and be fair.

This has gotta be Cartman's worst season ever. Like they're actually making me consider the show might be better off killing him

man can you imagine if they actually killed off Cartman

If Cartman ever died...oooooh man, what a backlash that would bring. I could only see Cartman die in the series finale, but how interesting would that be to have Cartman permanently gone.

"killed off" Brian in what was supposed to be a huge turning point for the show

then retconned it like 2 episodes later after fan demand

and revealed that it was never actually planned to be a permanent death and was only presented that way to bring in viewers

honestly it's a big part of what killed Family Guy for me

I mean it had been falling off long before that but that was kind of the point of no return

Haha, alright, you're in the mix of this season. I feel like this season works as generally stand-alone, but South Park's taken some huge changes since...well, two definitions you could take this with:

Season 18 - introduced something akin to a season-long continuity.

Season 19 - made real changes in established characters and locations as well as introducing new characters (and dives deeper into continuity).

(and you'll have thoughts on Season 20 but I'd start a season or two before it)

If you wanted to play catch-up, those are where you'd wanna start. Seasons 17 and back follow the same style, town locations, and character choices you're likely most familiar with.

I like how all the girls were grossed out by Heidi kissing Cartman which included Wendy who was the first girl to ever kiss him and nobody mentioned it at all

Also kinda weird Cartman is with Heidi because the Tourette's Syndrome episode had him confess he was in love with some other girl and fantasized about kissing her. I guess they never did anything with that so he could've moved on, but still. Also I feel like we're overdue for another Kenny episode. I kinda feel like he's barely been there

I'm not sure I understand the Tourette's reference you're making from that episode. I thought Cartman was confessing a crush on a cousin around that part of the episode when he can't control what he's saying (he also touched weiners with somebody, not sure who). Was this part about a classmate instead? In a way that would be relevant to his relationship to Heidi now?

The cousin part was different. When he was doing that celebration party or whatever he said he loved a girl called Patty Nelson and fantasized about kissing her. She was there to hear it and said eww and that was all we saw of her I think. The wiki doesn't have anything more on her either. I think it's the first time Cartman ever really confessed to anybody and the only girl other than Wendy he had any sort of feelings for until Heidi
