breaking: I won the Olive Garden bet
2 of my players (Amari Cooper and Jordan Reed) got more points this week than they did the whole rest of the season combined. I didn't start them because I'm smart or good or anything, only because I had no other options

That bike will probably turn up abandoned once the thief realizes he can't openly ride it or sell it. That's what happened with Hunter Pence's scooter.

You know what, I just thought of a good app idea. You could register your stolen bike and then people can see all the stolen bikes in their area. I wonder if something like that already exists. Million dollar idea right here (not really)

You could make money off that. Silicon Valley is incredibly dumb and easy to fool. Get that seed funding for your bike app and then get the fuck out.

Yeah that's probably a better idea, and probably fairly cheap and easy these days

I dunno, couldn't you stick it inside the frame or just not put it an an obvious location?

I'm sure you could, but I feel like the best thing you can do as a bike owner is get one (or more) really strong locks, and don't keep it outside locked for very long, especially not far from your line of sight or outside locked up at night.
And a gps wouldn't stop people from taking your tires or seat or other components.

And hypothetically...say someone does steal your bike, and you can track the bike with the gps. What can you do? Start knocking on garage doors or pawn shop doors renegade style? The cops won't do shit about it even with the location

This is basically accomplished by Facebook groups in large cycling communities to begin with. Even then, you have an uphill battle getting your bike back if it were stolen.

There are spots you can place a GPS tracker that would require a thief to take apart a bike to find.

There are other issues with this, notably, a limited amount of time to recover a stolen bike before your GPS loses charge.

But yeah, best bet is to keep your bike inside whenever possible. I have a good u-lock, and I would trust it for a night outside. Beyond that? You're basically playing roulette.

It's pretty annoying how bike theft isn't considered a more serious crime, sadly. If either of my bikes are stolen, I'm out at least $750 to replace either for a similar bike.

yeah I could have phrased it better, but I think the best anti theft bike device is just keeping it near you all the time and not leaving it outside/locked up. If you ride your bike to work, bring it inside, or keep it close. And when you ride it home, bring it inside.
Plus here in the good ol USA, cops won't help you find anything that was lost/stolen under a certain value. You can file a report, but other than that you're shit out of luck most of the time

I also wouldn't want a GPS tracker on my bike. I know we give out our information all the time like it's nothing now but I would probably draw the line at letting random people know where my bike is all the time

I have a gps tracker on my bike, so to throw off my random people twitter followers, I'll often toss my phone (with the gps tracker on) into a random place like a phone booth, while I ride my bike around. It confuses the heck out of any enemy spies that may be tracking me, plus I get tons of @mentions

I'm almost afraid to ride my bike anywhere just because I've had so many bikes stolen. When I rode it to work, I'd take it inside even though I don't think they love when you do that.

At least, I'd like to think that's the reason, but it might also be because I get winded after 20 feet

I've had one stolen. I locked it up incorrectly (only locked the front wheel, so they just took the rest of the bike ). Joke's on them, because the rest of the bike was terrible! I replaced it within two weeks.

I ended up seeing that bike again locked up downtown and in terrible shape. No clue what I could have done to even get it back, or what to do if I did.

Man that game really did blow by. Very efficient games by the starters and only one mid-inning pitching change.

Kershaw got taken out at 83 pitches and Keuchel was maybe even fewer. Extremely short especially compared to the rest of the postseason.

Yeah, I had no idea there was one coming out. From a purely business perspective, a microtransaction-based AC would make insane money, but idk if that's what they are doing. Nintendo never does what it should do, for better or worse.

For example, Odyssey looks insane. It's not at all what I expected the next Mario game to look like. Taking over enemies with a magical hat? Whaaa...I hope it's a great game and you guys love it.

I'm pretty sure the Switch is the first Nintendo device since the Gamecube that I'm gonna leave on the store shelf , so I decided to watch a leaked stream of Odyssey for awhile, and it looks great. The streamer and streamees(?)(what do you call stream viewers? Is there a name?) pointed out various Mario game references, so it kind of seems Sonic Mania-esque as a love letter to the past.

Phew, I worked in a Sonic Mania reference.

I don't hate the Dodgers or anything, but I really don't want them to win. They are about to go on a multi-year destruction tour of MLB, so starting that destruction with a WS win is gonna make me hate them much quicker.

Yeah animal crossing is sweet but mobile games in general are bad, unless they're a port (with mobile controls added) of the PC/console version

I mean I agree, but we had fun with Pokemon go an Fire Emblem Heroes for a while right? Plus there hasn't been a new AC in like 5 years.

Mobile games are bad but this'll be fun for a few weeks at least. Yes like all mobile games I'll probably also despise it once I'm finished with it but that's fine too. My animosity towards Fire Emblem Heroes has all but disappeared after a brutal hatred lived in me for so long

Super Mario Run looked dumb as hell, and I'm not thrilled about them bringing Zelda to mobile. Either it will suck and be embarrassing, or it will be good and I'm not going to want to buy a phone that can run it and be angry they didn't just make it for a console

It's a decent fit for mobile as these things go but it's not a fully featured AC game. It's not quite as blatantly a miniaturized version of the genuine article in the way that FE Heroes was but it's still clearly the free to play version of Animal Crossing. When it comes out on Switch it'll be a much more substantial game.

Zelda mobile is definitely a crazy idea though especially since FE Heroes is their most profitable mobile game so far. Can't imagine they're gonna go back to the Mario Run paid app model after that game was such a sales disappointment to them. Zelda will be free to play which means there will need to be a million unlockables which means it'll have some sort of multiplayer component. Probably not true co-op or competitive but maybe something like the online shadow fights in A Link Between Worlds. Also all of our Links will be wearing crazy costumes.

Edit: it's also possible that Heroes will never be topped by Nintendo because aside from Pokmon it's the only Nintendo series with hundreds of playable characters over its history. The real addictive element of that game is hero collection, not the tactical gameplay or the tiny multiplayer aspects.

I had friends that are/were super in to that FF mobile game. I tried it but I couldn't get into it

He told me that like a month before FFXV came out and I was like dude you realize you could have bought XV with the money you spent on that thing and he was like eh who cares. He spent hellas on FE Heroes too and had a badass crew.
