Is it just me, or does it seem like pretty much every single team in the NFL kind of sucks this year? But I don't know how that's possible, since it's a zero-sum game in the end. Do you measure how much a league sucks by the quality of the top teams, or the bottom teams? Somehow it seems like there's a fair amount of mediocre/bad on both ends.

It's so bad that you could credibly claim the RAMS are the best team in the NFL

I looked at the Rams' box scores for their last few games, and I didn't recognize any receivers other than Tavon Austin, who naturally underwhelmed with two catches for minimal gain. Turnover in the NFL is just insane.

Who do you think will be the first superstar QB to retire early to mitigate CTE? I guess I could see Rodgers leaving early.

Rodgers is almost 34 so unless he does it within the next two seasons, I'm not sure it could even be considered early.

Cam seems like the obvious answer to me, but I think it will be a question of whether he actually retires at his peak, or gets forced out of the game because he isn't good enough. Look at Michael Vick - he's only 37! But he basically became a nonfactor in the league four years ago. Cam doesn't rush as much anymore, but I think his running style was even more punishing than Vick's.

I'd also say Kaepernick if he was still a superstar. But those three are the only ones who give me any reason to believe they'd actually care about it. If anybody else does it, it will be completely out of nowhere to me

The Broncos haven't been shut out since 1992, but today looks like a day where they legitimately might not score. The crazy thing is the Colts had the second-longest streak dating back to 1993, but they got shut out today

I don't think the issue will be Washington not giving him a contract, but rather that it's evident he doesn't want to sign with them. They've used the tag the past two seasons but I think they can't use it for him anymore even if they wanted to

I heard they can but it would cost them an insane amount of money

Oh. Well I don't know, either way it seems like he's expect to hit the market. It sounded kind of weird at first for Socky to call him the biggest FA QB in a long time, but that's about right. That's obviously excluding the FAs who re-up with their current team, which is almost all of the good QBs.

As much turnover as there is in NFL rosters, it's kind of disappointing that the huge moves are so rare. You almost never see big trades or star QBs hitting the market. All the free agents tend to be signings to fill in missing pieces or sell tickets, but not a big, franchise-altering move. The top prize is usually a Melo or CP3 rather than a LeBron or KD

Anyways, going through the Treehouse of Horror episodes again before Halloween (at least up to 10), and holy shit is Treehouse of Horror V fucking dark. It mostly stems from the last segment, obviously. And it being a cartoon with a record of absurdity helps a lot too. Still, goddamn.

The cannibal teachers was very very scary to me as a kid.

Scariest Simpsons moments:

- murderous Krusty doll
- gremlin on the bus
- Lisa projected to have teeth going through her head
- "You won't be needing this."

I had no real issue with the murderous Krusty doll as a kid, although I can see why that would get on people's nerves. Lisa's projection would be a lot higher on my list as well if it weren't for Bart's line afterwards ("Cool, she'll be a freak!").

That shot of Milhouse, Bart and Lisa falling into the blades though is unsettling. And then the idea of being turned inside out and then being pulled away by the dog was just too much.

Evil Krusty doll was absolutely terrifying to me as a child. Evil dolls were always a problem for me. The only media to ever give me serious nightmares that I can recall was an episode of a goosebumps show where Shia LaBeouf got a doll that came to life as the Sprouse twins and it was evil. I literally tried to make an excuse not to watch it because the commercials were so scary but Brian and our sister were both hyped for it. Then for some reason after I recovered from the trauma I watched it again at my grandma's house and it was arguably worse the second time.

I was going to just roll over to Target on Friday, but they are sold out of pre-orders online so I freaked out and decided to pre-order for pickup at Best Buy just in case. Target is much closer to me, but I guess the Best Buy isn't too far

The Best Buy pre-order comes with a free coin which they say is a $20 value but I highly doubt that. I don't have Prime anyway. Will you actually get it on the 27th though? I like pre-ordering stuff that I can pick up since I don't trust it to ship in time

It's weird because Best Buy's shipping said it would arrive on the 30th but I think my sister had her Switch preorder shipped from Best Buy arrive on day one

As do I. I need to go pre-order Odyssey. For the most part I get the games on release date, sometimes it comes a day or two after. A couple of times I did get the games a day before, but they have only been for 3ds games.

With the Switch if I fail to preorder a game on amazon I'll probably just download it. Even with my carrying case it'd be nice to not Ave to worry about the carts. I do like the cases for Switch games though despite how wasteful they are

The Switch has a pretty small capacity, so I'd rather get games like Odyssey on cart. You're right about the cases, though. Why aren't they more like the size of DS cases
