To be fair, does the game actually tell you at any point that you can catch Pokemon and they go to the storage boxes? Seeing as you can't pick up items and have them sent to your item storage, why would it make sense you can do that with Pokemon?

Speaking of which, I really hate the menus in this game. I swear I spend like 15% of my time at the Poke Center computer. It's really annoying how you have to deposit Pokemon just to even look at the ones you have stored. Or if you boot a TM that you can't use yet, so you deposit it, that you have to completely withdraw it and use it again to remind yourself what it does. The town map and bicycle suck too

I'm pretty sure random NPCs in pokemon centers will tell you that, but it's probably a bit out of the way and easy to miss

Yeah that is annoying. It gets fixed in later games.

The most annoying part is trying to catch a pokemon but your box is full. So then you lose the shot at catching that pokemon, and have to go to a pokemon center and switch boxes. I'm pretty sure every kid who grew up playing these games has gotten all the way through the unknown dungeon and gotten to mewtwo only to have their box full

Yeah, I assumed the menus are better in later games, but still, this came out in 1996 so it being the first game isn't a great excuse. Then again I have complaints about BotW's menus, so I guess it's just a thing that happens.

I haven't run into a box issue yet but it's probably better that I know now even if it spoils things a bit. I only have two boxes going now, one for my rotation and one for my useless Pokemon. I know I can release my unwanted Pokemon (and items) but is there really any reason to?

I wish I realized earlier in the game that you could catch Pokemon any time, and that Oak's aide gives you stuff for Pokedex milestones. If I knew that, I'd probably just catch every new thing in sight, especially realizing that Poke balls are pretty cheap and money easy to come by. Oh well, I guess that's knowledge to use if I ever play it again

I want to start playing ALTTP before odyssey comes out but I've been playing Stardew Valley again and watching baseball so it probably ain't happening. Also there are some tv shows I need to get to. Then movies and books exist as well

I don't really do any of that stuff besides video games and sometimes watching baseball and it seems like a challenge to get through games in time. I want to play one more SNES game before Odyssey but I'm not sure I'll finish Pokemon in time even without playing anything else

Anyways, while you guys were watching an exciting-sounding baseball game, I was watching a shitty Broncos game that we lost to the Giants, where Brock Osweiler made an appearance and Al Michaels made a Harvey Weinstein joke that took like an hour to apologize for

I watched that game too. What was up with the broncos? That was bad

And the Giants finally looked at least a little like the team they were supposed to be coming into the season

I chuckled at the joke, so the world can judge me as a terrible person if it wants.

I laughed because it's hilarious that he thought it was a good idea and obviously wrote it down in advance because he thought it was so funny

It was funny in a "You dumbass, you know you're gonna regret saying that" way. It wasn't the most offensive joke by any means, but I was definitely taken aback a bit that he would go there

One last thing before I go to bed. My uncle killed and cooked squirrels today. He is a wealthy liberal man. He's just insanely missouri country. I have to show you this picture so that it won't only haunt my dreams anymore. Be warned: it's the nastiest fucking food you've ever seen

I think all the bacon and gravy/sauce spares it from looking as disgusting as you made it sound, but who in their right mind would eat squirrel? That's insane. I would only do that if I was starving. I guess country/redneck people just embrace doing dumb shit because it makes them feel connected to their culture

No but I've eaten tons of deer and snow geese from him. It's good as hell and if he says squirrel is good I might believe him but I can't eat that. He will probably try to make me eat it at Christmas too because his wife and daughters don't eat his kill so the nephews are tasked with eating it at their parties

It might taste similar to rabbit based on no information other than their common size.

The board of supervisors in my county voted against receiving a grant that would've funded preschool for poor families. The good news is my supervisor who voted against it is running unopposed so there's nothing I can do about him being a piece of shit. God bless America.

That's so wonderful. Living in a red state is such a blessing. We instituted our voter ID laws a couple months ago!

Is preschool really necessary though? I don't know many people who went.

It's beneficial. The grant also would've funded the program at no cost to the county. My supervisor said, in casting his no vote, that there are a number of private preschools in the area. So apparently poor people just gotta get better at not being poor.

Yeah, it would be one thing if they voted not to establish a grant, but it sounds like they just declined a grant that was already made available to them. I guess Big Preschool must have bought off your supervisor

I saw that about Sam and I saw they cleared Teddy B. I know you don't appreciate the obvious comments about how often he gets hurt but since it's always his knee eventually it's just not gonna work anymore. He might already need a cane someday

Yeah I heard something about arthritis because of all the damage and surgeries.

Assuming Sam's situation doesn't get better, they should probably roll with case as long as he's playing okay. Teddy hasn't played in 14 months and have no faith that he'll be better than case at this point. I'd like to be wrong though.

Even before the injury, he has potential but Teddy wasn't that good (although a lot of Vikings fans think he's the next Tom Brady)
