I definitely agree, and I thought the first one was fantastic. The stealth feels a lot better and the open world feels really dynamic and interesting.

Are The Purge movies really worth seeing? Should the first one be skipped or should all 3 be watched?

The first Purge movie is a family being trapped inside a house. It's basically "Let's poorly talk about ethics in the dark" the movie. I love Ethan Hawke, but he can't save this.

The second one is actually in the thick of it on the outside, so it's much more interesting and fun. Also, it has Frank Grillo who is outstanding.

The third one accepts that these are dumb movies and goes all in on being ridiculous and fun. Do recommend. Frank Grillo is also in this one, so it helps.

I disagree. I feel Purge 1 is a good movie and the rest of the purge movies have been awful. I get that they are exploring the universe more but the 1st purge movie just worked so well.

I don't see how people can praise 10 cloverfield Lane (which I disliked) and shit on the first purge under same lines of reasoning.

Because nothing happens in the first Purge movie and they just poorly talk about ethics for what feels like forever. The pacing is horrible in that movie, the themes being discussed in the movie are frankly dumb and not thought-provoking at all, and they constantly remind you in that movie of the insanity going on outside that actually seems like it might be fun to watch.

10 Cloverfield Lane is a totally different movie. It isn't a lesson in ethics. It's a tense bottle movie where you are constantly second guessing what is happening with these three vastly different characters and wondering what is real and what isn't. There's constantly forward progress happening in it. It's completely different.

The second two movies are fun because they don't take themselves that seriously. Not only that, it's got a ton of action and nonsense in it that you can be interested in watching, as well as a story with Grillo's character that allows you to think. They propose multiple ethics questions in these that are actually interesting, unlike the first movie that just belabors the same one over and over and over again.

If you are looking for movies to just shut off your mind and enjoy, the second and third Purge movies are outstanding. If you want a movie to fall asleep to, you can watch the first movie.

The first purge is a home invasion movie. 10 cloverfield is basically a home entrapment movie.

A lot less happens in 10 cloverfield than the purge.

It's about doing something with the ideas you present. Everything in 10 Cloverfield Lane is crafted to make you feel certain ways and to provoke actual thought and tenseness in each scene. Subtle and not-so-subtle things happen in the movie that make you constantly feel different ways.

Nothing in the Purge changes how you feel. Absolutely nothing. The majority of the movie is spent in the dark while some clown prattles on about wanting to kill some homeless dude, and then the family rehashes the same points justifying whether or not to give them this homeless guy. You have the same thoughts and the same feelings throughout the movie, and the movie doesn't challenge you at all or bring any sense of concern past the initial idea it presents.

I mean, I just disagree. I also encouragw anyone watching the purge series to watch the first one and form your own opinion. Imo the first was the only purge worth watching. 3 was a trainwreck. 2 just went another direction.

Instead of embracing their universe they created in 1, they started pealing it back trying to piggyback on the election wave by becoming political.

Also want to point out major tone differences. Purge 2 and 3 are more action movies. Purge 1 is more of a horror movie.

I would not compare Purge or any home invasion movie to 10 Cloverfield Lane, and it may seem like "less" happens in it but it's more in depth with its characters, their dynamics, their motivations, and even the location has a life of its own.

Depends if you just finished the main plot or started looking for easter eggs. There are a TON of them. I mostly just looked them up, but one of the endings relies on some really non-intuitive thinking to get.

what I got was this:
Played befriending Natsuki
Sayori killed herself
Game reset, got freaky, etc.
Eventually Yuri kills herself
Monika deletes all the characters and it's stop on loop staring at her

I assume I have to delete Monika from the files? But since everyone's already deleted I'm not sure what that'd do
