The other chains are far smaller and then you obviously can't name a local mom & pop. No game retailer is more common than Gamestop. No other chain comes close to Gamestop, which is active in 17 countries -- one of which is the USA, 16 more of which are not. Its competitors are poorly known. Outside of the UK, nobody's heard of GAME which is fucking tiny at only 324 locations. In fact, most video game retailer not named or owned by Gamestop have less than a thousand locations. Hollywood Video's GameCrazy died with the closure of the rental store. Babbage's is GameStop. Software Etc. also merged with Babbage's [essentially GameStop]. The closest nowadays are "toy" stores which I am a surprise that wasn't a choice but now it's only Toys-R-Us (which is financially in trouble) because the other choice KB Toys sold to Toys-R-Us a long time ago. I buy games that are physical at Best Buy with GCU too. I haven't shopped at a GameStop in several years (oh wait I lied I preordered the Nintendo Switch there lol).
