Actually I think I have figured Trump out - hes like a 9th grader taking his first class where he has to write papers.

He will read a book or listen to someone smart say something on a subject and then try really hard to repeat it while changing a few words to make it look like he really knows the material when doesn't REALLY get it.

There's this great scene in Survivor Worlds Apart where Dan gets stung by a jellyfish and tells Jenn, who is an actual lifeguard, that he was fine because he had peed on it and she told him that that doesn't really work and he has to boil his foot. She makes him promise he will and she walks away.

Dan then proceeds to walk up to someone else and tells them he was stung by a jellyfish and she immediately tells him he has to pee on it and he gets this smug look on his face and is like "Actually you have to boil jellyfish stings, IDIOT"

Donald Trump basically IS Dan.

Can't be. Trump would've argued with the actual lifeguard that peeing is actually the correct thing to do, and that the lifeguard is dumb and wrong. He actually has a pretty solid history of that sort of thing.

The thing that really grosses me out is that Gillespie is a super establishment and (relatively) moderate Republican who definitely does not think that immigrants and "erasing our history" are existential issues facing Virginia. He's using them to play to the worst instincts of voters purely as a cynical political move because he was scared by how close his super racist primary challenger, Corey Stewart, came to beating him.

It's funny to watch the conspiracy theorists at work here. Their prevalent theory seems to be one of multiple shooters, how that "had to be the case," and how the media is intentionally silencing it.

When the chaos was ongoing in Vegas late Sunday/early Monday, the speculation of multiple shooters was widespread, and EVERY media outlet reported on the possibility. So what's their take here? That the media was initially rife with speculation about multiple shooters, and then the government secretly coerced every credible media outlet to change their narrative?

The only "conspiracy theory" worth looking into with this junk is the effect SSRIs have on people. I just read that the dude was on anti anxiety meds, and said to myself "well no shit, that's the case every single time".

CT is in quotes there because if you read the drug insert on a lot of those drugs, it outright says it can make you more depressed and/or prone to violent outbursts. I had it happen to me in 5th grade when I was made to try Ritalin. Every single time some idiot mass murders people, they're on these drugs. We're long past time to get people off of this stuff unless it's completely impossible for someone to live a normal life without it.

And I'm sorry, but adhd and anxiety and the like doesn't require hardcore anti-psychotic drugs. If you eat right, sleep right, exercise, take some natural supplements in the morning (fish oil, men's one a day, and so on), and have a good structure, it's the same as taking 250 mg Welbutrin once a day, but there aren't side effects because it's a natural remedy. Before all of these drugs, doctors would just tell people to get more sunlight and spend more time outside. There's a lot of truth to that. There's a really good book called The ADHD Marriage by Melissa Orlov that talks about a lot of this, and it basically turned my life around. Almost none of the people on prescription anti anxiety meds are to the point where natural remedies won't help.

When we were all taking that long politics test thing during the primaries (I forget the name of the site but I feel like almost everyone here did it - it listed like you agree with Clinton this much and Sanders this much and McMullin this much and Stein this much and Kasich this much etc), his number one match was Sanders. Number two was Trump. Clinton was like fifth.

I remember this because I kept trying to figure out what series of answers he could've put in to get those results. Because I had Sanders at like 91% and Clinton at 87%, so there wasn't that much difference between the two of them.
