I just realized that I don't have a belt, the last one I had was old and ragged and eventually just broke. It's not too noticeable if I wear my suit jacket, but if I just wear the dress shirt and tie it looks really weird. I guess this means I'm wearing a suit to a job interview at Firehouse Subs.

It's firehouse subs. Polo and jeans is good enough.

When I interviewed for fast food jobs, I would wear a button down and jeans w/ the sleeves rolled up and it wasn't tucked in. Just make sure the shirt fits well and isn't baggy/too long if you're not tucking it in.

Or, grab a black shoelace and use that. They'll think you're a modern day Macgyver

but for real fast food places dont require professional attire. just dont look like a greasy slob and you should be fine. essentially you're already "hired" so long as the interview isnt really terrible. which would be hard to do.

Seems like bad advice, even if it is just good service. Khakis and polo seem like the bare minimum for a job interview.

Good luck and I'll send some positive energy your way. I belt would be nice if you have time to get it, plus I'm sure you'll have other reasons to use it, so not a waste of money. But like someone else said you could probably get by with some nice pants and shirt. A suit might be a little too dressy for the position. Just be sure you smile because that is what they like to see.

Can't wait to hear that you got the job!

Um, I worked at a few fast food places when I was in my late teens, while going to a trade school during the day etc. I also have known many people that have worked at them. Heck even interviewing for Starbucks (which I would classify a bit higher then most fast food as far as required attire), still doesn't really need you to dress up.

You can, but as someone who has actually hired people for many positions (Even when I was 19 and working at Carl's Jn), as long as you don't look homeless (and even then, we had 2 homeless people working for us at Carl's jnr, one of which was seasonal (we would hire him back each year), your set.

Focus on more important things, like making a good impression with your personality, experience you have in the field, how you will treat customers. Be ready to answer questions about specific situations that may come up etc.

All that will make a much larger difference then how well you dress up, past a certain point of course. If you have saggy pants and look like your a wannabe rapper or something, that is a different story. IF you look like an average person who walks into Firehouse subs, your fine.

Is this guy still pretending to not be Carlisle? He mentioned in the other topic that he's fat and he worked fast food before, and getting way too excited for a fast food interview and overdressing totally sounds like a Carlisle thing.

Just wear a polo shirt over some jeans, untucked. Solves two problems at once: You aren't overdressing, and you can cover up the fact you don't have a belt.

Yeah, I think I should be fine in that department so long as I don't have a brain fart or something. I've already got my answers planned out for the whole "what's your best/worst quality" deal. I think I'll do good in the interview.

The movie is certainly mediocre and would be in the running for worst Disney movie, but the novel is good.

tbh, all most retailers and food service providers are looking for is somebody who can show up sober and on time when they're scheduled and not slag off too much.

No, it wouldn't even bottom-10. Maybe if the cut-off was 90s+ it might bottom 10, though.

I think it went pretty well, I'm only iffy on one point: Guy said that they were big on smiling and being friendly to customers. I tried to smile during the interview but I'm not sure I did it enough, so that might hurt my standing.

He did mention that they were looking for people who could work on weekends and night shifts during the weekdays and I feel I really hammered in my availability in that regard, so I'm hopeful. Probably could've stressed the night shift experience more than I did, but I think it's fine.
