Looks like White 2 is running smoother, so I should be able to stick to this one, plus... Steel isn't as bad of a type to have in 5th Generation.

Wickle will set off again, I have named my rival Sharpie for @MZero11, but will still request if @red13n, @JONALEON1, and @Shonen_Bat want to be a part of this project. Because my one rule remains the same, sign-up and I'll name you after a Pokemon in as one of my Pokemon during these runs.

Once again, it's Steel-type so my starter only exists until I catch a Steel-type... so first... Pick my starter for me!

Alright, I get to skip tutorials by answering yes to my mom's questions, yay. And first I meet my rival trying to go find Bianca and lol Sharpie "I NEED SOMEONE THAT I TRUST, shit, why's my sister here? Go home dumb little sister."

Holy shit this starting city is huge (should I now tell everyone that this is my first time playing the sequel set of B/W?), I love how Sharpie also just did not want to see what Pokemon I grabbed, probably so he has an excuse to not be Blue and have the Pokemon triangle advantage by snagging the advantage as soon as I grab one. It was way too tempting to answer that I had no clue who Wickle is, still not the best sarcastic remark, that one goes to "I'm a hutt in disguise" from KotOR.

Grabbed my Snivy parter that shall be here until blah blah my mono-type can begin. This starter shall be unnamed unlike the Banedaquil. The rival's kind of weird, he seems half in the POKEMON NEED TO BE USED category but half in the POKEMON ARE FRIENDS one too. He raised his Tepig from an egg afterall!

Well, first battle done, I'll get on with this journey and update periodically.

Oh snap. Checked the Floccesy Ranch Pokemon and Riolu is among them. I might go in order of last topic since it was the original order of things, so Red->Shonen->JONA->Drake for when I'm catching Pokemon... Now to steadily try and get that Riolu.

Oh, and met Alder, fought some trainers, got route blocked by a Hiker, found Sharpie again but too busy with Riolu hunting to give him his damn map. He can wait.

I try to train him a little bit, but his moveset is kinda annoying (Quick Attack, Foresight, Counter, and Endure) for the time being so gonna wait for a good moment (plus he's not Steel yet anyway, I'm not forced to solo the first gym with him). Also forgot to say, his ability is Steadfast.

But yeah, had him fight Sharpie's Tepig, but Quick Attack didn't do much damage at all and AI is obnoxious when playing around Counter, so I pulled him out at low HP and finished off the Tepig with Snivy again. Leaving Snivy as my lead until it's a good time to train Riolu.

Found a member of Team Plasma and learned... Oh, this is two years after the events of B/W, I knew Bianca's words were explaining something about her remembering events of the game, but didn't have a full answer. And I was expecting a battle, instead he just threw his frustrations my way. And a TM that was aptly named.

Oh, are TMs unlimited uses in this game? Just confirming.

... I love how Alder has me fight the first school boy and take his lunch money for sending out a monkey with a type disadvantage... and then heals my Pokemon. "Oh, did your pokemon actually want healing BEFORE the first match? Nahhhhh"

And now some creepy dude was waiting for me outside of Alder's house to give me a medal and a box to hold all my medals. IF I HAD ON- oh right I just got one. Actually a cool thing for completionist standards, but I obviously won't really be shooting for that. And then Alder stops me before I leave town to give me berries... Why couldn't you give them to me at your house? Or like... when you stopped me before I departed after talking to Mr Medal... Or ya know... THE FIRST TIME WE MET. Like god this game just wants to keep stopping you for such pointless encounters. At least it's not as bad as why I'll never play Platinum again.

I do love how the school before the Gym was like "oh, but like the only Fighting type you can get is Riolu at the ranch, so you're in for a battle of strength if you tackle this with your starter or something." Sadly that Riolu has to be lv 15 I think it is to have an actual Fighting move. Got him to lv 10 for now, which is 3 level ups since I've caught him, all "during" battle, so I think I've gotten +15 Friendship. Of course, I also don't know what friendship he's currently at yet.

Now to take on Cheren.

Cheren was a little fun battle, Work Up made his guys that much stronger when the damage hit, but Snivy was able to tank up Patrat and win, then I sent Riolu in against Lillipup and perfectly it was QA->WU, QA->WU, Tackle->Revenge for a POUNDING finish from Riolu.

Leaving the Gym I find myself meeting Bianca again, who gives me the opposite to Frustration, and then Cheren comes out to give me his phone number and prompt Bianca to do the same, while also giving me Professor Juniper's who instantly calls me and... Oh, that's cool. Video chat. So calling Juniper is Pokedex progress, Bianca is friendship checks, and Cheren is... typing? Tells you strengths and weaknesses? I'll test it sometime. Bianca also gives me the C-Gear which... sounds like it's gonna be nothing for me.

So let's see, one more level up and challenging the Gym Leader would be ~95 Happiness currently if NFUN is right here. Calling Bianca tells me he's above 100, so I'm a little off. I'll check again eventually.

Now Bianca upgraded my Pokedex to include a Habitat list... Oh, this is nice. Stamps if you've encountered all Pokemon you can in an area, really cool new feature. Then I get stopped by Cheren so he can give me berries to counter poison and tell us about dark grass... Then we reach the city and instantly called by mom... Then we're stopped by a pointless scene with Roxie and her dad and she proceeds to use a lot of d words to insult him with.

Now some thug-like dude tells me to catch a Magnemite from the Virbank complex, since Roxie is poison-type. And after seeing a Growlithe, there's now another Pokemon I can get for a type advantage before the third gym. So it's like... this game adds a lot of easier aspects to the series. Granted, Elesa probably still annoys everyone with Emolga though.

Not too great of a Nature, and realized I didn't show the second page for Red, but now I get to update everyone on my teams.

Dunno when I can catch the next Poke, I know I have a few past Clay in the Electric Cave, hoping I can get a different one before Clay though. But with that, I'm done for a little while. Might resume tonight and finish running around the complex while training these two a little as well as beating Roxie.

Regardless if its nature, its stats, its ability... Shonen still knows how to Solo a Poison gym. Still have a little trouble in the Complex thanks to one of the guys having a Magby. Tough opponent for me, might have to sail back later after some more grinding.

I decided to do the movie, becoming Riolu girl for the first time. This Riolu is no Red, but I'm sure Red will become an even better star when he's a Lucario, or Shonen... or other people that will eventually be caught. Next we have... well, maybe I'll try to set sai- Oh, Team Plasma is here to be bitches.

Took them out, and also finished off the other trainers I left in route 20. Roxie made up with her dad and now I can set sail, so I did. But quitting for the night as I reach Castelia City. Tomorrow I shall resume.

Ah, Castelia City never ceases to be too frickin' huge. Found everything I wanted to and followed Iris into the sewers... well, first Iris then Sharpie. Had some double battles with him and then all that ended. Went into Relic Passage and began my search for Dust Clouds. Not sure if I can access Onix->Steelix but I definitely can freely evolve Drilbur... if I find a Dust Cloud.

After a bit of cussing and being mad at Pokemon because I was forced to take my first TKO because of a Grimer allowed to take +3 Evasion moves because Shonen has problems with accuracy even before evasion kicks in...

I found a Dust Cloud and caught Pokemon #3, JONA the Drilbur.

So, I'm learning a little bit regarding the influence this run is leaving me on a few Pokemon, specifically the two guys who have been with me for a full gym. (entertainingly, I'm constantly typing dungeon instead of gym and have to proof read and correct myself to gym... this isn't even the first time as it's happened everytime I've been talking about gyms)

Both Riolu and Magnemite are Pokemon stated by the first two gyms to basically be "oh, are you having trouble with the Gym Leader? Go find these Pokemon." Burgh has no such "oh grab this Pokemon," but I should comment that the Complex has 1 or 2 fire Pokemon in Growlithe and Magby, depending on your version (Magby is only in B2), and the sewer has Zubats. So far, we haven't gone a gym without getting a Pokemon that which you can floor the typing advantage in. I kinda like that for new players, since Cheren is there to tell you about type match-ups and you start catching more Pokemon to find what might work when you're having trouble.

Now, to actually go onto what I was gonna talk about. Sure, there's a typing advantage, but there's a problem with the two we get. Riolu, ignoring the rarity of catching one... doesn't get an actual Fighting move until lv 15 in B2W2, since Counter doesn't count for Fighting advantage and is really tough to use anyway. Until lv 15, your damaging moves are either Counter, Quick Attack, or Feint. Two attacks that you need fantastic foresight or save states to typically use correctly, and a weak base attack at the start of the game. I kept using Snivy primarily instead of swapping completely over to Riolu because Riolu's base damage was just so low I couldn't do much with him. Right now I've given him Strength, and he has Force Palm so he's better now... plus he pretty much gets +2 Attack a turn anyway.

Next, Magnemite, at the start after catching him... he was pretty much Thundershock or bust... Because everything else was either RNG, or tackling with an Attack stat of like... 2. Let me go over his moveset up until lv 21. He starts with Tackle, Thundershock, Supersonic, third move can either make or break the game... and it used to break the game when it came to those pesky Zubats in Mt Moon... Here? Not so much. I've used it probably 20 times, hit 4 times total, and seen only one Pokemon hurt itself in its confusion of that. Accurate accuracy with Supersonic anyway... Which came also with a problem when it came to Sonicboom when I got that. Very good early if you can land it... But only really early in the game. It's already become 3 Sonicbooms to KO an opponent before I've had a chance to get a better move... And I still won't really get a better move because what's his next stuff? Thunderwave at 15, Magnet Bomb at 18, Spark at 21. You can look at those next two and see... Well, STAB... but Physical. Magnemite has a pathetic base attack.

Point of this message? This run has really made me dislike these two Pokemon. Sorry for weird rant, just felt like finally admitting my gripes since honestly my point of doing these runs is to get experience with different Pokemon.

Yeah they kinda suck for while but both of them make up for it in the end.

I'd recommend playing the hack Volt White 2 for one of your games if you have any way to do that. It would be great for a run like this, since it makes almost every Pokemon available.

Is there a way to know who's available and where in that? Granted, I still kinda prefer this since the hack would still change some Pokemon's moves and whatever... maybe.

The hack comes with documents listing all of its changes, including availability.

It changes nearly everything, including trainer teams and Pokemon stats, moves, and sometimes typings and abilities. It comes with a vanilla patch that leaves out all of the Pokemon changes though, if you want that.

At least Magnemite has one good thing... Defenses. I gave him leftovers and he would stay healthy against the normal trainers, making me believe I was perfectly capable of taking on Burgh. Didn't lose against him, but it certainly wasn't as easy as it had me believed to be.

Started on that Swadloon vs Red. Red couldn't do much damage and a crit ended up KOing him so I didn't get to swap him out, sad. Swapped in Shonen who finished off the Swadloon and returned to full HP. Then was JONA vs Dwebble... and god not having STAB on Metal Claws and being unlucky about its stat booster made me have to burn all three Fresh Waters the Hugh dude or whatever his name is kept giving me. Guess I'll have to find a vending machine. Feint Attack so cheap. Still finished him off and gained a level.

Finally, swapped Shonen back in against Leavanny, and... Well... a few levels of advantage did make it tougher than I expected. Nearly halved Shonen's HP with Razor Leaf, only didn't because yay Defense. Paralyzation then kicked in and I got off plenty Sonicbooms to wipe out Leavanny. Shonen? More like Guile.

Well, now I meet the dude we found in the sewers after beating the Plasma grunts again, his name is Colress. He's a bit... eccentric? I went along with what he did and he's all like "loluonlygot3bagdgesbutyoRioluissoconfident" man... How many badges does he have to talk down to me so easily? I bet he didn't collect 10 from a region that only has 8 gyms! He also wants to have a Pokemon battle with me and left to wait on Route 4.

He made all the Crustle leave, what a nice guy. Wants to have humans bring out the potential of their Pokemon... yet also... uses experiments to deliver energy to them? ... God this Clink is obnoxious... Frickin' Gear Grind. Not really helpful for me to get Riolu OHKO'd when I'm trying to build happiness... and being in a Ground area doesn't help.

Twinkle... Twinkle... What? How is it? !! (First and last time I'll do one of the Castelia street conversations).

Oh right... the ground-types are Dark... this is actually a good area to train Riolu. Oh, and speaking of this game being a bit easier... there's so many people in "violent" areas that heal your team, I've found the doctor in the sewer, and now the far house in Route 4 had someone.

And more importantly... Got this while it should be closing in on sunset, and good thing too... After battle with a Liepard, Red levelled up to 21 and started to evolve. Red is finally actually a Steel-type, Welcome to the squad as a Lucario.

So I notice now the problem I have with Drilbur. Drilbur has lower defenses substituted for good speed and high attack. His moves started with Rapid Spin (which I would have had only a single opportunity to make use of that when some Pokemon used Toxic spikes, but I already had Shonen out instead), Mud-Slap, Fury Swipes, and Metal Claw. The problem? It wasn't until lv 19 where I actually saw him be good at combat since lack of STAB on Metal Claw actually made it fairly weak, and it's his strongest attack because of Mud-Slap being Special. He saw himself get Dig at Lv 19 though... but currently through the 20s it's basically his only attack.

Of course, I'm definitely grinding JONA prior to Elesa because he'll get Rock Slide at lv 29, and we all know what Rock Slide+Dig will do to that leader. After realizing I can't train them really against the Linebackers though... I've decided to check out the other routes.

Finished up Route 4, I'll take a peek at Route 5 and 16, but first... a question. Vitamins, how do I completely know if they'll work or not?

I will probably do pregame stuff, which means a few things. 1) You be Ducklett as I'll probably hunt it down to be my Surf/Fly bot, in that segment you will be named before the other people that are a part of this, but not be a Pokemon I actually use, akin to someone claiming to be my starter. The benefit, is when I do the next typing you will be the first name to be used.

2) You choose to be post-regular team, which means you won't really be a part of my E4 team, but will be swapped in at times prior to end game and maybe after.

In other news, I've basically figured out who are gonna be the next 3 Pokemon caught... discounting my HM slave, so if you three who are next would like to know the team... Drake, Poka, and Anagram... I'll tell ya if you want, or keep it a secret until you're caught.
