I'd owned the game since near launch but self-admission of the game being a failure, followed by lengthy updates kept me from playing every time I felt an inclination. But I finally sucked it up and started it up yesterday.

After a very boring intro sequence I am sent on an arbitrary quest to kill some enemies that are apparently annoying people even though they are nowhere near the gas station and seem to be in their own habitat. There are also 3 groups of them for some reason.

Combat feels really clunky and the buttons not remappable(Why are block/parry and attack across from each other?).

Also apparently this girl exists to distract you with boobs from how dull and boring the game begins.

There seems to be no camera follow, just manual control.

Also I played this dumb pinball like minigame for like 4 hours. It was boring but gave me no indication I was supposed to stop(Apparently, I could have stopped as soon as the gold things hit 99). (I didnt count these to my 30 minutes, obviously)

There is no storyline so far. The main character is a prince and he is on a bro-trip to go get married. No one else in the world seems to give a shit.

Also im apparently able to upgrade the car immediately to a totally out of place looking off road version in something clearly added post launch.

I'm sure there is some sort of downside to this but the game makes no note of this.

I was unaware you could get Regalia-G so soon. Huh.

I guess the downside is you don't get Gladio's free Survival items? That skill levels up by walking.

I think Skyward sword and FFXV are two of my most reviled games because they have shards of greatness that are crapped all over.

FFXV has probably my favorite story of any FF game. Too bad you won't figure out what it is unless you read a Wikipedia article.

Also i seem to lose control of Noctis when using skills on the other characters for needlessly long attack sequences. I'm not really sure what is going on or if Noctis is vulnerable or what.

That's quite fast. Some people don't realize that they hate FFXV until they've gone through the whole rigmarole of actually beating it.

You're invincible during those. Link Strikes are awesome and you should try to do it all the time.

As time passes on I continue to realize that I didn't like it very much.

I had a great time playing the first half of it, but looking back I don't have many fond memories of it overall.

I also really disliked where the story went in the entire final act, which may be why it left a bitter taste.

FF15 is great! I liked it quite a bit. One of the best villains in a FF game.
