Two item and money maps plus the overclasses that you would only ever use long after finishing everything else in game. Yeah I'd say buy one or two of the DLC classes and definitely get the Rise of the Deliverance which significantly enhances various part of the main story. I haven't tried the Cipher chars yet tho >.> But outside of that, the DLC is mostly not worth. Now to get a whole plot, you have to either buy the (severely overpriced. considering they're flags..) supreme collectors edition, or buy the other 2 paths from the eShop. oh and then there's the DLC, supposedly not all was localized which was a problem since one of them enabled you to get more of a class item....wasn't that into the series, Witches' Marks or something? The way i see amiibo is that intrinisically, you're supposed to see them as a collected value. but not all games actually uses them to a sizable degree. i mean there is the novelty in having your amiibo farm items in Smash Bros, but they didn't really get unique features. the Mini Mario and Friends example is more like something to prod people towards getting Amiibo, eventhough it's generally accepted that the Mario (and DK) series of Amiibo wasn't really that popular. (barring a few exceptions. maybe the size is good for Bowser, or the Build quality is great for Jr and Toad. or just fandom-popular like Rosalina) And even then, even among amiibo. the Pokemon and Animal Crossing ones are probably the ones with the least amount of usage. Game Freak is posessive over their IP so the amiibo themselves hasn't been usable in any Pokemon game besides...Pokken, but even then, any amiibo gives any reward in there. in Animal Crossing's case, everyone was so reviled over Amiibo Festival and Happy Home Designer wasn't really considered as that major to the general Nintendo fanbase that excess AC amiibo overflowed the shelves, they at least remidied this by updating New Leaf (which was 3 years old at that point). there were some items only avaiable from Amiibo, but you could just get from friends, even the ingame Wii U's/3DSes could be obtained from Fortune Cookies. Looking over wikipedia, Link has the most use....if by virtue of having multiple variants. though if you're not Japanese, nor a fan of Picross, Ace Combat or Miitopia then it shrinks down to 4 out of 8 (9, if counting Boxboy. though that's Kirby-only characters, plus Qbby...whenever his amiibo is getting out of Japan). whereas other amiibo like Animal Crossing/Splatoon generally only stick to their own games, with the posibility of Mario Maker. I guess after thinking it over, Mini-Mario and Friends only suffers due to becoming an even more detracted sequel to the Donkey Kong series, which was gradually going worse since DS..and 2 or so sequels that eventually turned it into Lemmings. maybe also for pushing characters who never appeared, or should logically hasn't appeared in the Mario vs Donkey Kong series before. Toad/Peach (2), Mini Luigi (5!), have existed in previous games, yet this game actually gave a usable Donkey Kong (fuelled the plot of 2, but was never used, besides in the construction mode)....but also Bowser, Bowser. Jr, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, and Yoshi Amiibo. arguably Toad could've used a boost, but was there a point in adding so many characters?, just seems a tad superflous.
