Sometimes I leave the stove on sometimes while I'm out, but its usually only on for a couple of hours(with the exception that I left it on overnight once), and my parents often get on to me about it saying that I will burn the house down.

I don't do it often, maybe like once a month or two months.

9 times outta 10 you'll be fine but is it really worth that gamble. How much of an asshole would you feel like if your kitchen actually caught fire cause you decided you didn't have the time to watch the stove.

If anything is on it or falls on it then you risk a fire, but otherwise it's just a massive waste of energy.

Just turn it off. The risk may be low, but it's a completely pointless risk to take.

You do this at your parents house? like someone said, 9/10 times you'll be okay. But you do this with a 10% chance of burning down your PARENTS HOUSE??? It's not even your fucking house you idiot. Your parents have likely sunk many hundreds of thousands of dollars into that house, and you risk burning it down because? Why? You're a lazy idiot? Doing it once by accident was enough for me to scare myself into never, ever doing it again even after 8 years. WTF. You didn't pay a single cent for that house and you, out of your own stupidity, frequently put your parents (the ones that are responsible for you BEING ALIVE, let alone lucky enough to live in a house), at risk of losing everything they've worked for their entire life. Let alone the house that is probably worth at least $400,000, but all the furniture, family photos, files, appliances, any pets you may have. Jesus christ.

A stovetop can easily burn your house down. How can you expect to ever become a man with responsibilities if you actually do this?
