My guess is Boston would have rather had the Lakers/Kings pick than Brooklyn's. Would the Cavs have said no had the Celtics put in the other pick?

as if the Knicks had a star player on a one year deal, a young wing on a good deal and a potential #1 pick

knicks definitely have a potential #1 pick and Carmelo is a star

and crowder is already washed up and a throw in

Knicks with Kyrie and Porzingis are easily a playoff team in the East

Man, a former #1 pick traded for a former #60. Has that ever happened?

even crazier, they were the first and last picks in the same draft

He's not, but like Chicago and Indiana aren't making the playoffs this year. Atlanta got worse too. Phil Jackson is gone and Porzingis should improve. The Knicks only have to get like a little better and they're in the playoffs >_>

I think I've decided that it depends on if Kyrie shows up for 82 games. IT has a health concern but I worry about Kyrie coming to play hard the whole season. then again, if he's magic in the playoffs again we'll probably all ignore any regular season issues.

if the C's get a top 3 seed then it doesn't matter how kyrie plays in the regular season

(i realize that how the C's do in the regular season could depend on kyrie - but i trust horford, smart, and hayward to show up for the regular season. though those three guys... probably are not enough)

Can sort of see where the Cs are coming from.

Many other gms would be reluctant to give a guy IT's size a long term max.

Celtics on paper are now in a position to peak when the warriors get old.

Though a lot of it depends on tatum and brown and maybe some of those other picks they still have.

I think it's an OK basketball trade - the C's are a better playoff team now. Remember this past postseason was a real struggle. This trade solves problems for both teams.

Value-wise, the Cavs won, but, you can only deal in "value" so long before you need to try and strike (Boston)

I just really liked IT4.

Eh, I think the trade still happens unless its a REALLY serious injury. Kyrie was considering not even showing up to training camp, and Rose is a good enough PG to keep the Cavs in the playoffs if IT needs to be out for some of the regular season. Plus, if Lebron is really gonna leave for the Lakers or something like reports have been saying, that first round pick is going to be important.

Boston would be a mess, having traded their MVP and had people talk him down all week. he'd be injured and still 5'9. they also dumped Crowder.

Cleveland would be better off - Lebron singing Kyrie's praises come off as a masterclass move. Kyrie already wanted out so being back wouldn't be any worse really. it wasn't Cleveland's fault.

opening day would be hilarious
