Maybe. Friend of mine bought a refurbished XBox 360 and it lasted him years. Even now it still works just fine. Personally I might just go new instead.

When the Playstation first came out they were sold out and all the store had was a refurbished one. It came with a year warranty that if something went wrong they would give me a new system. They did a good job with whatever they did to the system to make it work again as it still works the same as when I bought it.

I bought my used PS3 in 2011 for $100. It came with like 4 games, too.

I bought a bunch of used systems:

Atari 7800
My current NES
Dreamcast
A second PS2

All of them work fine.

I had to. In 2014 I bought a used SNES, N64, and beautiful red Wii.

I have. Several of my handhelds have been used, which is why they were pretty cheap. I also bought a used SNES to replace my old one (not that cheap). If I found a really cheap ps2 or ps3, I'd probably buy it as well although I'm less likely to need a spare home console than a handheld.

That's how I got any of my consoles prior to N64.

I've only ever had three systems that were brand new. Interestingly, they were all different kinds of DS (DSi, 3DS, and New 3DS).

All my Nintendo consoles were bought new and still work.

My ps2 was bought refurbished in the early 2000's. I've taken it apart once to clean the lense and it works fine.

Don't get me started on Microsoft.

Bought a refurbished ps3 a few months ago. It's a little quirky but is ok so far.

First console I ever had was likely used considering it was a Master System and my parents got it for me in the late 90s, Both my Gamecube and Wii were used too.

I wouldn’t have a problem buying a refurbished one from a store, but I don’t think I’d ever buy a used one like from Craigslist or Facebook.

That being said I'm a PC gamer and I usually buy them for 1-2 games.

Have before and would again. Most times it works out fine, now and then it doesn't but sometimes it's the only way to get a particular console (or at the price it deserves).

I have! It tends to be fine. I probably wouldn't get one of the consoles known to have lots of problems used, but everything I've bought used has held up.

Sure if they are cheap enough. I bought pre loved consoles in the past. My WII and PSP for example.

Yes. I've bought both a used PS3 and PS4, gutted them, bought my own parts and turned them into super consoles.

Got my PS4 used. Can't even tell it wasn't new and it works great.
