the sharp divide between Netflix show characters and MCU characters feels a little awkward now, especially with Spider-Man in the picture.

I think the divide was at its weirdest with Kilgrave. This guy is a mind-controller and it was broadcast on the radio, essentially. You would think someone in the Avengers would have heard and been like "maybe we should investigate just to be sure".

though tbh I think Iron Fist was actually more enjoyable to me than some of the other below average shows just because it somewhat embraced being a silly stupid soap opera while some of the other bad shows were so dour and serious and it was a real slog to get through something with that tone that is also terrible.

I'll watch Defenders if only just to see more jessica jones

I enjoyed it and look forward to everyone's future endeavors. I'll be interested to see how much crossover between the individual series will exist now - like maybe they could make Iron Fist season 2 just a full on Heroes for Hire thing so we don't have to deal with solo Danny anymore.

Finished it yesterday also. Was disappointed to see it was only 8 episodes, but it told its story. It was a fun story but didn't really reach the highs of Daredevil/Jessica Jones/Luke Cage. Probably because there wasn't much time to really delve back into the characters for this one.

I'm still annoyed that they didn't use the super badass ninjas like in Daredevil (aside from that one Black Sky flashback), and the power levels of a few characters seemed pretty inconsistent. Danny basically can't even get Luke to flinch with his normal attacks, but then they show the Japanese dude and Elektra could knock him around pretty easily, which should mean that their attacks should've absolutely broken the others, but by the end they were both kind of jobbing. I also thought it was strange they didn't take a moment to show that amazingly Claire knew all of them. Her past experiences with Daredevil weren't even really mentioned at all.

DD S1 > JJ > Defenders > DD S2 > Luke Cage > Iron Fist

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'm confused by why Elektra wanted to run the hand after she killed Alexandra though. Didn't really make sense to me.

I think it was just that after experiencing death, she wanted to make sure she never had to experience it again. She said she didn't give a crap about the Hand, she just wanted their resources or whatever. Though I dunno maybe the Dark Sky is also a corrupting force which is why she didn't just kill the other members of the Hand and take the substance to use it for good.

I was really high on this show after the first six episodes but the ending was kind of a letdown. All of the Fingers besides Gao were almost completely ineffectual, in and out of combat. And the death fakeout was pretty cheesy too, they spent like 15 minutes showing everyone's reaction to it and then "lol nope".
I will say it made me very hype for Jessica Jones season 2.

Jessica actually introduces her to Luke when she takes him to the hospital to recover from the shotgun to the head. They have a couple of scenes together there. Unless you're talking about the Defenders right now, which I guess, I haven't watched it all yet.

Just watched episode 5 and it was a reminder why JJ is my favourite of the Netflix Marvel shows: Trish is just a nice supporting character, as opposed to Foggy, Karen, Colleen (and in a lesser sense Misty) who all spend the majority of the time being annoying as all fuck. I mean, Colleen's scene with Claire was good but everything else was just so painful.

This was extremely fun.

They gave Danny a little more of an edge while still being able to poke fun at him.

I also thought that Elektra was totally awesome in this, and much closer to the Elektra that we all know and love.

And the trio is great when they're getting along, except they never really get along once Foggy finds out Matt's identity.

The person in the trio who frustrates me is Matt. He would have saved everyone a lot of trouble if he just told Karen he was Daredevil a lot sooner. It felt like he was only hiding it because it's a comic book thing to hide your identity form people.

Episode 7 and god I just can't stand any of the characters. Danny is such a moron, Colleen is even dumber and what the hell Claire is doing with the fight team when she has only basic fighting skills is a mystery to me, unless it's for drama and time to kill off Claire purposes which goddamn. Misty was so annoying here as well.

And the only two half-decent supporting characters, Trish and Malcolm, are the two THAT DON'T APPEAR IN THIS EPISODE AT ALL! WHY! At least the fight scene was wicked (but ruined by Colleen having to intervene when it looked like Matt was the one having the least amount of problems) and Foggy was able to redeem himself.
