As FFVIII's lone champ, Zell has had a good run for most of his tenure. He has eight top 25 finishes, with three of them being top 10s, including a victory over Yuffie in the finals of CX. He's struggled quite a bit in the last several contests though. He only has two upper half finishes since CXIII, and so he has steadily been declining in the STATS. With this finish, Zell drops from 64.76% to 61.65%, falling from 21st to 28th place overall.

Because of his recent struggles, Zell's STATS are notably worse in the New Era. There, he takes a big tumble from 56.03% to 48.69%, sliding from 37th to 50th place.

Another character with back to back top fives followed by two boots. This is Delita's second boot, but the first hard boot. His success has been more limited than you might expect for someone as well regarded by the FFT fanbase. Delita has four top 25 finishes, but everything else is a bottom half result. It's either feast or famine for this guy, it seems. As such, his STATS are middle of the pack. With this contest, Delita dips from 52.39% to 49.77%, dropping from 40th to 43rd place. He's now the highest ranked character under 50%, which is fitting because Selphie is the lowest ranked character above 50%.

His New Era STATS were a good bit better before this boot because of the recent good finishes, but this performance brings him down a lot from 61.27% to 51.62%, falling from 29th to 45th place.

Agrias went from being on the good side of "narrowly missed the soft boots" last year to being on the bad side of it this year. Aside from her first appearance and last two, Agrias has done fairly well for herself, including three straight top 25 finishes. Before this boot, she was easily the highest ranked FFT character in the STATS. With this finish, she drops from 58.24% to 52.83%, dipping from 32nd to 40th place. However, she narrowly maintains her lead over Wiegraf for top ranked FFT character, although he can take the mantle back with a good finish.

Agrias's lead in the New Era STATS is a lot safer, though she obviously still takes a big fall. There, she goes from 64.20% to an even 56.00%, sliding from 24th to 35th place. She's still over 4% ahead of the second place FFT character though.

Mog's success in this contest has been pretty limited. He only has one top ten and two top 25 finishes overall to his name. Of his 14 appearances, Mog has only finished in the upper half 5 times. Unsurprisingly, he's one of the lower ranked FFVI characters in the STATS as a result, with only four below him. With this performance, Mog falls a little bit from 46.18% to 44.03%, dropping only two spots from 54th to 56th place.

His New Era STATS are a bit better since that top 10 finish is worth more, but his dropoff is more precipitous, too. Mog slips from 54.76% to 48.30%, falling from 39th to 50th place.

You can try it for yourself, the free trial period is up to getting your character to level 30, and there's no time limit.

I'd say that I'd play with you, but I don't play much myself, and have pretty much been inactive since the 1st expansion.

Aki had two strong showings followed by a hard boot and a soft boot. Oddly enough, Aki's performance dropped off once FFDespot stopped being in charge...! Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. Since Aki didn't debut until the New Era, her STATS are the same in both. She makes her debut at 46.75%, which is good for 53rd in the overall STATS and 52nd in the New Era, so not much of a difference in placement.

Firion hae been able to sneak past the boots the previous three years, but he hasn't been able to get much further than that. It took a long time for FFII to finally get someone to qualify for STATS, and his numbers are about as "impressive" as you'd expect an FFII character's to be. With this performance, Firion debuts in the STATS at 30.25%, which puts him at 92nd place in the overall numbers, right between two Quadra-Boot members, Irvine and X-Death. His percentage is the same in the New Era, but he comes in at 88th place there, still right above X-Death.
