I have like 10 but never use them alts aren't always for trolls. I made mine because I got modded for little stupid things and kept getting warned.

Hell I don't even use my main anymore.

I have a bunch but I really only use one when I'm warned. I forget most of them. Blightzkrieg, Blighboi, Bligh_with_no_T, Buraito-kun, Twiroach, Another_Derpy, Discordantly.... maybe some more. I also have at least one that's banned but I can't remember the name, it was something like RealSamus.

I meant to make a Blight_Family account at some point but never did, might end up banned for impersonation.

In the old days, they were also for intelligent posters to occasionally make funny jokes with, and were often appreciated by other posters... but that ended when most of the posters with worthwhile senses of humor left the site forever.

Now most gimmick accounts are basically troll accounts by proxy, because all of the gimmicks are pretty much universally terrible.
