Game really wants me to use FFT guys and Lightning element lately.

Congrats! I read his review earlier and that limit is insane, especially when maxed.

He was also rated as a better long term chainer than Orlandeau and Aileen (not sure how true that is based on their JP rankings though).

Got some questions about element chaining

What is the interaction with other elements being thrown in there

If I have say four Tidus doing a buncha quick hits for like a 50 hit water element chain

Say I throw Delita in there. He uses his 8 hit Lightning attack. How is that interacting. Is the Lightning disrupting the potency of the water element chain even if the chain continues, or is it just not gaining as much, but the Tiduses are still racking up the water element chain they had.

Now what if he uses that with a water elemental sword. Is his lightning attack considered both elements and benefitting just like a water attack would?

And does the Lightning Element Add status make an attack pure lightning even if the weapon is a different element or not

Basically just trying to figure out how difficult chaining becomes if you toss a second element in.

Yes. In that case, it would continue the chain. ( cause it splits the attack into 50% each element)

No- if there are other elements involved, the attack is split with them as well.

So basically if I give Delita a water sword he can play nice with my Tidus team if I go hard on chaining. That's good to know. Really sucks that X-Death has no water elemental option though.

Someday we'll get an item that gives Waterja or something.

Delita is easy to win with. A decent one with no holy weapon can one shot the boss with his finishing attack. Then the rest of my team just bladeblitzes the fodder.

I find if I try that, the other guys overwhelm my team too easily. I need to kill them off in the first round.

I have everybody with Fire weapons and I just have all five of them use bladeblitz. The fodder dies and the main boss is at 3/8 HP. If the companion unit can't do that much, my lead Agrias is generally still alive and can finish it with Divine Ruination or an Esper summon.

Yeah, full party is like that. Even with Agrias at 6* it's not quite enough, usually I get another good support and it works fine.

4 bad Gaffgarions, 1 bad Agrias, 1 good Agrias is what I am running. The other members do help chaining bladeblitz for the final battle, at least. And with an Agrias friend it's not really an issue to beat the stage.

Definitely don't have a full bonus party, but it does let me bring either Zarg or Ashe as well as Tidus, so I'll take the slowdown on collecting in exchange for actually beating the stage. Tidus isn't quite strong enough to solo everything, but he manages to do fairly well for himself through most of the stage.

Bit the bullet and just threw all of my cactuars into Setzer and Agrias. I really didn't have much else worth leveling (except maybe Marie, but I'm fine letting Expeditions do their work), and this lets me start building up an Arena team as well as a unit to eventually work with the old man if her enhancements hit after I build up a good stock of crysts.

I also got my second Ingus from my daily. I know the banner sucks, but I'm still in need of a good stock of TMRs, and this will help Ashe get on the road to being a fantastic unit. Eventually.

Speaking of, I'm nearing the point where I can get my second TMR. My understanding is that I should build up one unit as completely as possible (in this case Tidus), as that makes content like events more easily soloable, so that's what I'm doing. Assuming that's right, at this point my choice is between Dark Knight Soul and Brotherhood. I've only got one Leon, so I can't build him up nice and quickly. DKS would get me more attack, I think pushing me into the mid 700's if the unit calculator is right, but Brotherhood would let me more easily take advantage of Tidus' Imperil without having to use a turn for Jecht Shot. Honestly, I'm leaning more towards Brotherhood so that it also frees up Razzmatazz to go elsewhere, but I would still like some input.

Brotherhood could also be slapped on a 2nd unit to Chain water with someone else.

I'd go for Brotherhood first, DKS second. That's how I did it

I could also go for an Aqua Blade to do the same thing for element chaining, but the only other chainers I have are Agrias, Aileen, and Setzer, and none of them chain with Tidus all that well. But that's also a possibility if I want to build a second attacking unit instead of buffing up Tidus.

Dark Vertias fight was dirty- dispel/buff, then whack with Dark damage, seems legit.
At least Citra finally gets some love from Raegen, despite all her bullshit.

But of course, the story is never over- guess we're killing Hess's lackeys, now.
