I would happily eat a couple of donuts every morning with my coffee if it wasn't for the fact that one donut is like, 450 calories straight out the gate without even any frosting.

God damn it.

I once ate 18 Caseys donuts and a gallon of milk before working out.

I smiled at a hottie on the treadmill and threw up. The puke cycled around the treadmill and sprayed all over me and the surrounding area.

She saw me and screamed so I ran away. I left my wallet and keys in the locker room and just ran off. Out the door was a mom and her kids, I run into her covered in my puke full of whole indigested sprinkles. It gets all over her and her kid pukes from the smell.

I run away and get to my car, no keys. So I strip to my compression, run into the gym, snag my clothes and run out while the front desk calls the cops.

They never found me and my car still smells.

At my local coffee shop the donuts have less calories than the muffins.

The muffins are still "healthier" since they have nutrients from fruits/grains, but if you only care about calories the donut's the better option.

no most wheat in the US have nothing for nutrients, thats why they are enriched. most people eating wheat today in the US are eating flour that has been bleached through chlorine gas and had vitamins sprinkled on top.

breakfast used to be for farmers

it was like cereal or an oatmeal bar or something like donuts because

they would then proceed to work 5+ hours in the field, in the sun, hot and sweaty and not likely eat lunch till late

that requires a lot of energy or they would become tired and fail at the work

but for some strange reason a huge fat dude whose job is to sit at a desk all day thinks he needs to eat breakfast in modern day

you won't expend that energy before you eat lunch

which is why so many people are fat

if on the otherhand you wake up really early and go jogging for miles, that is a different matter

if you wake up, eat, sit at desk for 1-3 hours, eat

According to the Healthy Eating Guide, sitting burns an estimated 75 calories per hour. The number of actual calories burned, of course, depends on your body composition, weight and metabolism. Reading a book while sitting burns 112 calories an hour for a 190-lb. man.May 28, 2015

I am aware of psuedo science that gets tons of blog hits.

https://authoritynutrition.com/is-skipping-breakfast-bad/

https://www.aol.com/article/lifestyle/2017/03/01/breakfast-most-important-meal-of-day/21865875/

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jun/07/take-it-with-a-pinch-of-salt-the-food-marketing-myths-weve-swallowed-whole

Let’s start with breakfast. There’s no conclusive evidence a morning meal makes you lose weight and feel great, but the idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is widely ingrained. This is largely thanks to the efforts of grain companies. Kellogg’s, for example, funded an influential study that linked breakfasting on cereal with lower BMI. And The Quaker Oats Center of Excellence financed research showing that a daily breakfast of porridge reduces cholesterol.

Big Cereal isn’t alone in bigging up breakfast with biased science; bacon is also to blame. In the 1920s, PR man Edward Bernays was tasked with increasing bacon consumption in the US. At the time, most Americans ate a light breakfast; Bernays figured a good way to increase bacon consumption would be to increase breakfast consumption. So, he asked doctors to confirm that “a hearty breakfast was better than a light breakfast to replace the energy lost by the body at night”; 4,500 doctors agreed and Bernays got the media to report the results, strategically placing bacon adverts by the headlines. Today, 70% of bacon eaten in the US is eaten at breakfast.
but when you eat actually isn't the big factor

Thanks for citing a myth funded by big corporations though

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/08/10/the-science-of-skipping-breakfast-how-government-nutritionists-may-have-gotten-it-wrong/?utm_term=.0cdb3bc70c78

The notion that skipping breakfast might cause weight gain entered the Dietary Guidelines in 2010, during one of the reviews conducted every five years by experts to update its findings.

In preparation, a government-convened panel known as the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee collected research on skipping breakfast. Some of it did, indeed, suggest that breakfast skippers may be more likely to gain weight.

One of the key pieces of evidence, for example, examined the records for 20,000 male health professionals. Researchers followed the group for 10 years and published results in 2007 in the journal Obesity. They showed that after adjusting for age and other factors, the men who ate breakfast were 13 percent less likely to have had a significant weight gain.

“Our study suggests that the consumption of breakfast may modestly lower the risk of weight gain in middle-aged and older men,” the researchers said.

The advisory committee cited this and similar research, known as "observational studies," in support of the notion that skipping breakfast might cause weight gain. In "observational studies," subjects are merely observed, not assigned randomly to “treatment” and “control” groups as in a traditional experiment.

Observational studies in nutrition are generally cheaper and easier to conduct. But they can suffer from weaknesses that can lead scientists astray.

One of the primary troubles in observational studies is what scientists refer to as “confounders” — basically, unaccounted factors that can lead researchers to make mistaken assumptions about causes. For example, suppose breakfast skippers have a personality trait that makes them more likely to gain weight than breakfast eaters. If that’s the case, it may look as if skipping breakfast causes weight gain even though the cause is the personality trait.

tl;dr

breakfast is not special

if you eat cereal at 100 calories, that won't make you fat

but eating 1000 calories in 2 donuts will unless you are super active right after it

I live across the street from a donut shop. People always ask how often I go there, but I rarely go and this is why. One donut is like more calories than my usual lunch and breakfast combined.

Every so often I will go and get an apple fritter, but that is actually a bad idea cause they are literally the size of my head.
