But I get headaches within an hour of waking up if I don't eat breakfast. Explain?

Caffeine addiction and withdrawal symptoms, assuming you coffee a lot (and at breakfast, notably)

If you'd like, I can PM you more when I get home so you can find one that best suits what you're looking for.

That'd be cool. If you're going bake-rich, at that point it's more the "muffin" path than "donut" path, which I'd prefer anyways.

Thanks for citing a myth funded by big corporations though

Nowhere did I say that it's the most important meal of the day. But I get headaches within an hour of waking up if I don't eat breakfast. Explain?

I get headaches if I go a few days without having a couple beers. I guess that means it's good for me to drink every day?

No because I've had days where I've just had my normal morning caffeine (one shot of espresso) without eating breakfast and the headache kicks in anyways.

I'd rather be addicted to breakfast than addicted to alcohol, so sure.

The only point I was making is that your association of headaches with health aren't necessarily a good indicator of what's good for you.

For example, plenty of people do intermittent fasting, which is a pretty manageable way to control calorie intake and is reportedly beneficial from a health perspective. And that basically means you don't eat anything at all until at least 5pm.

you suggested the studies claiming that eating breakfast makes you lose weight actually have merit

consider who gains from people thinking that is actually real

nevertheless, I gave you plenty of articles that say "actually it wasn't a real scientific study and was filled with bias"

and what is this about getting headaches?

do you seriously want to tell us that eating a donut prevents you from having a headache? maybe you should explain to us how breakfast prevents this.

but truth is likely coffee, if you are addicted to caffeine you can get headaches

http://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/guide/triggers-caffeine#1

Since caffeine narrows the blood vessels that surround your brain, when you stop taking it they expand again, and that can cause pain.

Withdrawal: It’s easy for your body to get so used to the effects of caffeine that when you don’t have it in your system, you have withdrawal. A headache is one of the symptoms. This can happen when you have caffeine regularly, even as little as a cup of coffee a day.

That's fucked up. There's a line where doing things that are good for you just stops being pleasant. I don't want to starve all day if it means I'm going to lose a few pounds. I'd love to see a source on this.

Where did I ever say that breakfast makes you lose weight? I'm saying it's good for you. I never claimed it made you lose weight.

Anyways, between your terribly excessive line breaks, your unnecessary abuse of the tag system, and complete inability to understand what I'm saying, you're pretty obviously trolling.

It's perfectly fair that they have a lot of calories. What isn't fair is that it's impossible to find gluten-free donuts. You can get the packaged ones, but none fresh out of the bakery. Even the gluten-free bakery/restaurant in my town doesn't have them. They have donut holes, but not actual donuts. Every time someone brings donuts in to work (especially for "everyone"), I wanna stab them.

for intermittent fasting, I think most people broke their fast between 12-8 .

For some, eating breakfast isn't that pleasant and many get used to fasting either way. You'd be surprised how quick your body can get used to not eating. And it's just skipping breakfast, it's not like you're literally starving yourself.

It has nothing to do with starving yourself. You eat as much as (if not more than) anyone else does, but you pack all your calories into a window of about 3-4 hours. Helpful for people on a diet who are struggling with the new lifestyle of eating tiny portions all day, and people who are prone to binging. This way, you get to have a solid dinner, and just forego breakfast and lunch.

Works for me, as I'm so busy at work I barely think about food, and then want a big dinner at home. Intermittent fasting is actually a generally more pleasant way for me to diet than trying to eat conservatively throughout the day.

It's mostly done as a technique for bodybuilders, but I find the lifestyle aspect helpful. The jury is still out on whether it's good for you or bad for you.

https://www.strongerbyscience.com/intermittent-fasting-study/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3680567/

I'll add as well, if I eat breakfast I only end up more hungry throughout that day than I would have done without it.
