I thought CNN still exists.

Starting plans for the wall doesn't mean anything until it actually gets built. It could be in the planning stages for 4 years.

Illegal border crossings were down long before Trump took office. I bet you also think the unemployment was at 25% under Obama and then it magically dropped to 5% under Trump.

Not sure what you have against refugees. They're people trying to escape serious issues in their home country.

The DNC still exists and isn't destroyed.

There are more people watching reruns of Yogi Bear than there are people watching CNN. This Fake News exposure will cause it to collapse onto itself within several months.

Only because the DNC keeps blocking these plans, but the first part of the wall will be built in September.

When you have a crazy old lady demanding for Trump's impeachment on everything she says, and an unhinged do-nothing senator from that same state as the party's frontrunners, then you know that they can't survive. Losing more than 1000 seats since 2010 does NOT means a party's survivability.

No, they couldn't book a hotel because all the hotels were full.

Come on Nathan, I know you don't understand how the world works but you should at least understand something as basic as "book a room early if you want it."

personally i think the best parts of trumps election are all of the videos of liberals losing their fucking minds the night of, and the videos of all the people who told us over and over and over again that "Trump is never going to be president."

i can go back and watch this shit 8 months later and still laugh my ass off

Why exactly is everyone so opposed to Russia and America palling around? Is it just a subconscious throwback to McCarthyism, or something? There are no downsides to co-operating with a foreign power to the extent that it will reasonably occur anyway. It seems like a bunch of petty assholery like with Cuba.

Not sure how much you expect from a first five months. However, in general, he's done less harm than Obama so... there's that. Otherwise just this week he got Russia to agree to a ceasefire in Syria. The other month he negotiated with China to start accepting US beef again. Oh, plus he filled a much-needed SCOTUS vacancy with an impeccably qualified judge. He does stuff all the time, but it's not like everything he does is going to be as big as the ACA which, by the way, was a terrible deal.

It's also funny because the roles are somewhat reversed since now it's the Democrats being harder on Russia and, humorously enough, there's a Democrat named McCarthy leading part of that charge:

Probably because they interfered with our election, used force to steal part of a country they wanted, Putin has journalists killed who says anything negative about him, and holds sham elections to retain power.

Not sure how much you expect from a first five months.

"I don't know how you expect much from a first year!" I don't know how you expect much from a first 2 years!" It's nothing but excuses from the Trump cult.

However, in general, he's done less harm than Obama so... there's that.

Yea, Obama turned around the worst recession this country has seen since the Great Depression. The nerve he had! He should've let this country go to shit!

Otherwise just this week he got Russia to agree to a ceasefire in Syria.

Which is what any president should be doing.

The other month he negotiated with China to start accepting US beef again.

Which was a deal that was in place before Trump took office.

Oh, plus he filled a much-needed SCOTUS vacancy with an impeccably qualified judge.

Which was a stolen seat. And Gorsuch is a gigantic prick that has no business being any type of judge. He thought a guy freezing to death in his work truck should've frozen to death instead of looking for help.

It screwed over countless middle-class Americans by jacking up rates, it punished lower-class Americans by killing affordable plans and punishing them for not buying insurance, it added several new invasive standards with the potential for abuse because of the new centralized databases (including asking about gun ownership info), it jacked up taxes, it's forced the further unification of major health providers thus shutting smaller groups out of the market, people lost their doctors (which they KNEW going in yet claimed otherwise), it burdened states with an additional largely unfunded expense (the federal subsidies scaled down year to year), and basically the list goes on to infinity. And, equally importantly, as it is you ALREADY had programs like Medicaid providing healthcare to the needy.

He appears to have stopped the rise of right-wing populism in Europe, as pretty much every far-right party from France to the Netherlands to Austria to Germany has tumbled in the polls since he came to power. And on a more partisan note, as a liberal I'm quite thankful he's president at the moment because just about any other Republican could be doing some real damage given that they have both houses of congress and the supreme court on their side.

I dunno, man, seems to just be a knee-jerk thing. Well that and reaction to Russia blatantly interfering with the election via promulgation of false news stories, hacking the Democrats' e-mails, and generally relying on borderline cyber-warfare in their attempts to tip the scales in Trump's favour. Oh, and their invasion of Ukraine - can't forget that. And their propping up of a murderous dictator in Syria who has been slaughtering his own civilians by the tens of thousands. And invading Georgia. And cracking down on gay rights. And having opposition politicians and reporters jailed or killed.

Y'know, minor stuff.
