RT: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/spider_man_homecoming/

I've only seen it once, this is true, but even after one viewing it's pretty hard to walk away from HOMECOMING not thinking you've just seen the most ideal big-screen take on Spidey yet, and one of the best examples of the genre, period.

One of the very best Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and one of the best films of the year
https://www.theguardian.com/film/201...and?CMP=twt_gu

Marvel has had a longstanding problem with its villains, each less compelling than the last, but the film’s handling of Vulture is one of its many masterstrokes. He’s given depth, humanity and moral ambiguity, a working-class grafter up against what he sees as Tony Stark’s careless elite. Civil War’s smartest idea was examining the damaging effect that the Avengers had on the world around them, and that theme is nicely built on here, class warfare serving as a subtle subtext to the film’s more literal conflicts.

Marvel has finally started to figure out what the future of superhero movies might look like. -David Ehlrich

News Flash: Tom Holland is the best movie Spider-Man ever. He finds the kid inside the famous red onesie and brings out the kid in even the most hardened filmgoer.
http://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/s...ecoming-review

Most impressive is that it's a blast to watch, harkening back to the sugar rush that accompanied flipping through Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's earliest comic adventures .

http://www.thewrap.com/spider-man-ho...m-holland-mcu/

Feels a little more punchy, laugh-filled, and exciting than one might expect from a property that's already been given plenty of chances to succeed.
https://www.polygon.com/2017/6/29/15...ecoming-review

Spider-Man: Homecoming is smart, incredibly funny and surprisingly clever. It is an entirely unexpected - perhaps even vanishingly implausible - fresh start for the third Spider-Man franchise of the past fifteen years.
https://consequenceofsound.net/2017/...an-homecoming/

Spider-Man: Homecoming is an enchanting reminder why we ever hid comic books under our bed in the first place.
http://collider.com/spider-man-homecoming-review/

While the Marvel Netflix series have touted their identity as “street-level heroes,” the Spider-Man of Spider-Man: Homecoming feels like a better realization of that promise. He’s still got superpowers, and he’s working against a powerful villain that can wreak havoc, but Watts always wants us to know that this Spider-Man lives among us. He’s not a billionaire or a demigod or a super soldier. He has superpowers, but he’s also visiting his local bodega and swinging through the suburbs. Homecoming is a movie that emphasizes the “neighborhood” part of “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.”.
http://www.nj.com/entertainment/inde..._back_str.html

A funny, sunny superhero movie for the whole family.
http://www.slashfilm.com/spider-man-homecoming-review/

The more I think about SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, the more I appreciate and adore it. It's definitely in the top echelon of Marvel movies, up there with the first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, which might be my two favorite superhero movies of all time. I've only seen it once, this is true, but even after one viewing it's pretty hard to walk away from HOMECOMING not thinking you've just seen the most ideal big-screen take on Spidey yet, and one of the best examples of the genre, period.

I don't think that matters in this case too much. Keaton should have been working with a historically one-dimensional character that has been party to probably 0 great stories, so whoever wrote this must have really taken some liberties (which is great). Hats off to them.

The original Sinister Six story is great conceptually and is fair to good in execution. At the time I totally understand why it was considered great, but it has not held up well. There are certainly great stories from that era, but dialogue is really an issue in those days. I would compare it to, say, The Saga of Ra's al Ghul 10 years later and marvel at the quality of writing. Or take the Spirit comics from the 40s which also feature much more captivating writing. Stan Lee's House of Ideas was phenomenal in terms of concepts - it can't be touched - but the dialogue is pretty tough to muscle through.

I would be all over this. "Look Spider-Man, this frozen yogurt shop stiffed me on sprinkles. They charge me for the full yogurt including toppings, but they left off the sprinkles. I picked up my yogurts, left the shop and noticed the lack of sprinkles, and when I came back in, they wouldn't even consider adding sprinkles since I had already left. I mean, what kind of business are they running here? Anyways, that's why I need to rob this place and bomb it."

I don't believe in this movie
If they think that the scene with Tony Stark in the car is SO FUNNY that they have to shove it down 340324 trailers like it's the best scene ever, I doubt the rest of the movie has so much more to offer

What I hate most is the movies not all just belonging to Marvel. I would have loved to see an Avengers movie with Jackman Wolverine because him and RDJ would just be having a competition to see who the bigger dick is. I would pay so much money for one Marvel film with Jackman Wolverine, Deadpool, Spider-Man, the Avengers and maybe Guardians. Literally devastated ReynoldsPool only has that awful Origins appearance for interaction with Wolverine.

On a somewhat related subject though does anybody know how strong Spider-Man is compared to other Marvel heroes? I know he has enhanced strength, but I have no idea just how strong he is compared to actual Marvel powerhouses.

He's probably mid-tier in strength compared to other Marvel characters, but he's basically a jack of all trades who's good at everything and thus he can hold his own against any of them.

he punched Hulk into orbit once though (with some help)

How'd he manage to solo the X-Men? That sounds crazy and though I don't know the extent of his abilities I have to imagine he would have a hard time with Jean or Professor X. Wolverine also seems like he would be annoying to fight because of his crazy healing even if he isn't insanely strong. Now I'm curious what superhero or villain has the best healing

Spidey beat Wolverine 1-on-1 once, too. Spider-Man is faster, stronger, and with his Spidey Sense, Wolverine essentially can't even touch him. Spidey holds back a lot of times, too, because he tries to avoid killing people.

He also beat Firelord once...

Spider-man is Marvel's darling and thus has a lot of bullshit wins to his name.

Beating Wolverine 1 on 1 is well within his ability, beating all the X-men together not so much.

Yeah, looking that incident up I was directed to CBR where the article was talking about how poorly done the fight was because Spider-Man effortlessly beat them while having somewhat even matches against solo members earlier. It seemed to say that while Spider-Man may be able to beat most of them that taking on ALL of them as if they were jobbers is ridiculous.
