Inviso: NEBBY! Seriously though, I normally hate legendaries, but this one was incorporated SO WELL into the story and it filled a slot on my team so perfectly…this is right up there with Articuno in terms of the best legendaries GameFreak has ever made.

swordz9: Awesome lion with disappointing typing

Cybat: Both of the legendaries this gen are pretty great. This one loses a few points for being the "devourer of the sun" but being weak to Fire. Seems like a rough life.

XIII: A great cover legendary.

Raka_Putra: Solar Leomon (spoilers: he dies)

StifledSilence: Would have been automatic top ten and maybe even top five if they got the typing right. No Fire, no deal.

Ermine: Lunala and Solgaleo are a great pair of legendaries <3

ctes: Solgaleo looks really cool and is a very great legandary to be featured on the cover of Sun. It's signature move is really cool too. Why in the world is it not fire though? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

mnkboy907: I don't know why I don't like this thing more. Can't put my finger on it, but something about it just... leaves me underwhelmed.

Luster Soldier: This Pokemon is cited as an example of a case where predicting a Pokemon's type before being officially confirmed isn't as easy as It seems. Almost everyone thought Solgaleo would have the Fire type at the very minimum, although predicting a secondary type was much harder. Secondary type predictions were all over the place and much less certain than the expected Fire type. We had a "mind blown" event when it was revealed to be Psychic/Steel and did not have the Fire type. The irony here is that a Pokemon based on the Sun is actually weak to Fire, no doubt the main reason people were expecting a Fire type here.

Brayze_II: so many dicks, dicks, endless and uncountable

Paratroopa1: it's ok'ish, I'm just sorta predisposed towards not liking it because it's a kind of boring box legendary. but it's still pretty good. btw I'm at #76 of this list and I'm still describing things as 'pretty good.' gen 7 is great fuck you

swordz9: Puny wimpod turned into such an amazing badass holy shit

Cybat: As soon as I got a Wimpod I could tell that it was the Magikarp of this gen, but I was still not prepared for what it turned into. Gameplay-wise it's pretty hard to use, but can't argue with the presentation.

Raka_Putra: Menacing. Quite powerful for in-game and great type coverage.

Brayze_II: I luv golisopod

Ermine: Wimpod and Golisopod are both amazing and I love the line a ton. Fantastic pokes.

XIII: Really great. Would 100% use it were it not for the silly ability.

Inviso: I don't like Emergency Exit, but I'm glad we finally have a tough Water/Bug type in the game that's fully evolved. Plus he packs one helluva punch.

StifledSilence: Big beefy mech bug.

Luster Soldier: Well, at least it's better than the other Bug/Water evolutionary line introduced in this generation. It's an okay design that happens to be better than Dewpider/Araquanid. Golisopod is also known as Guzma's signature Pokemon in the game and this fact probably helps improve its popularity among fans. If not for being Guzma's signature Pokemon, it probably finishes lower in the overall rankings. This is also the first Pokemon whose gimmick is based around the idea of priority moves, with it having access to Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, and its signature move First Impression. The gimmick comes at the cost of the Emergency Exit ability, which forces Golisopod to switch when it drops under 50% HP. This could lead to Golisopod not getting in an attack before this happens, if it chooses not to use a priority move (since it's otherwise quite slow). The ability does work very well with First Impression, a move that only works on the first turn that Golisopod is sent into battle.

ctes: When I first saw this thing, I thought it looked super cool. Then I saw its typing and was super excited to use it. I thought it outclassed Araquanid in its design, which is a pretty great looking Pokemon too. However, that all completely fell on the floor when it turned out thing has a reason for the player to commit murder in its ability. Man is it ass. It is beyond my understanding that they went ahead and make two abilities with the same function for these stupid line. Only difference is in the descreption, where Wimpod is a coward and apparently Golisopod senses danger or some s***, it's a coward too obviously. The failure learns several stat boosting moves by itself, which are all utter trash with this ability, that are only useful under extremely situtional conditions that never happen and doesn't make it the slightest bit good. It's speed is a complete joke too along along with the rest of the generation despite not looking slow. Design makes this Pokemon a bit higher than it should, but don't be fooled, it's utter trash.

Hmm, I didn't do a writeup for Salazzle. It's sort of like the new Heliolisk, which itself was like a knockoff Starmie. Very high speed, decent Special Attack, and a fair mixture of coverage moves. But it lacks any real presence in battles. It doesn't have as much utility as Starmie and it's not really a major threat despite all of its (theoretically) good aspects.

Luster Soldier: I love this new super cute Vulpix. Regular Vulpix is already quite good, but the new one is even better, especially now that it's an Ice type.

mnkboy907: This thing just looks so cool. I just wish it had a more interesting type. When I first saw it in the data leak, I got excited for the all the neat possibilities it could've been like Ice/Electric or Water/Electric or even Electric/Dark would've fit, but just another Bug/Water in the same generation as Golisopod. Oh well! The thing still looks amazing so that's good enough for me.

Cybat: I call this thing Aquarachnid about 50% of the time. Really effective design, it's just a shame that "Water Bubble" was the best name they could come up with for its quite powerful ability.

Brayze_II: I wasn’t expecting anyone to have done anything with this, but then, jugs on a centaur

XIII: A bit slow, but I like using it. Often works out to be pretty reliable.

ctes: Araquanid is really great. This line is basically what Surskit should've been back then (f*** Masquerain) and with a killer ability to go along them. Decent recovery due to Leech Life suddenly being very great. Solid looking design. It would've been a darn shame not to rank this Pokemon high!

hotdogturtle: Water Bubble = lol. Araquanid is one of the strongest attackers in the game because of a mechanic that is not even explained though ingame text anywhere.

Inviso: For a Water/Bug, this is pretty cool, with a neat ability. Not spectacular though.

swordz9: Weirdest spider in the series

StifledSilence: What happens when Aqua from Kingdom Hearts fuses with a spider.

Paratroopa1: it kinda looks like some kind of metroid shit but then it turns out it's actually a really nice pokemon, awww, it helps pokemon by rescuing them and putting them into its bubble oh god why are they all drowning oh no araquanid OH NO ARAQUANID

Luster Soldier: It's slightly better than Dewpider, at least. Even then, I don't care about this Pokemon at all.

Raka_Putra: Okay, whoever made this must've accidentally stretched the design. It looks like a bad Fakemon. One ugly mother-effer. The water bubble is a neat enough gimmick that could've carried its design, but adding bulbous generic evil head and weird yellow, very thin legs is just overkill. Moderation is close to godliness, so they say.
