The way people have defended this is just sad.

"If you don't want to get shot, don't break the law." -
"If you haven't done anything wrong, then just comply."
"Don't carry an illegal weapon if you don't want to be perceived as a threat."
"Well then, if you have a legal weapon, just be smart about it and let the officer know."
"Okay well, just don't be rude at a traffic stop if you want it to end well."
"Uhhhh....
YOU GUYS, WE ONLY HAVE A VIDEO OF THE AFTERMATH!!""

This will go on to infinitum, because some people just can't possibly admit that a cop made a catastrophically wrong decision.

I know you have significant difficulties in reading comprehension and sentence composition, but that means he was fired...

No police force on the planet will ever have him as a cop again and rightfully so.

There's actually a complete legal distinction between being formally dismissed and being allowed to voluntary separate, so no. You are just plain wrong here dude.

Without a doubt.

The jury trial determined there was no criminal action on the part of the cop, but Castile didn't deserve to die and the police department fired the cop over it. Seems ideally suited for civil litigation.

how is this hard to understand

When cop ask you for your ID and you don't comply you risk the chance of getting shot. Over and over people much like yourself keep saying just comply. Just comply. comply or die. HE was complying, if the cop didn't want him to move at all he could have said that, but he didn't.

Fucking no you don't. This isn't a choice between "comply and get shot", and "don't comply and get shot." You're just making shit up to create an impossible scenario so you can argue the guy had no agency at all.

Castle did make the correct choice, if by correct we mean in compliance with the order given. I guess he could have made the wrong choice and potentially have lived, making the wrong choice appear right in retrospect.

I would have continued to reach for my ID like Castile. I'd even do it now with full knowledge of this incident.

How is the cop supposed to know he's really reaching for the wallet and not the gun? Is every cop in this situation gonna have to wait until the gun is actually in the suspects hand and pointed at him before firing?

You bring up a GREAT point. If the victim wanted to hurt the cop he would not have waited, he would not have told the cop he was carrying , his gun would have been fire ready.

SO once more the victim was complying with the orders that cop gave. People keep suggesting things that the cop meant to say, or what the victim should have assumed. Shit the that. We are going on base what the police officer said .

because obviously the cop had malice in his heart, right? You're worse than the cop. If that cop could change one thing in his life it would probably be how he handled that traffic stop. But you wish him death. That is pathetic.

this is why it is a joke to even argue with people about these kinds of issues. 99% of the time people already have their minds made up before the facts come out, because emotion trumps facts when a cop kills a black guy. Keith Scott is a prime example. Dude got out of the car with a gun in his hand, was told to drop it at least 5 times and people were still blaming the BLACK cop who shot him and rioted over it.
