I occasionally tune in to Rush and sometimes Hamnitty while I'm in the car. I took notice of the commercials that endorse these shows.
The number 1 add is for Viagra or something similar. Then there are adds for buying gold and drug rehabs. Draw your own conclusions.

News networks in the daytime are similar. Erectile dysfunction drugs, cholesterol drugs, gold buying, and remortgages. Not so much the drug rehab stuff.

All commercials on both talk radio and increasingly on television these days are aimed at older demographics, because younger people aren't really watching TV anymore, and most haven't really listened to the radio (except for rare exceptions) for decades.

The political alignment doesn't really have anything to do with it.

NOW, if you were talking about how shows like Glenn Beck have a lot of adds for survivalist food caches or gun-related merch, you'd be more accurate. But even there you're looking more at the radicalized end of the spectrum more than you are an accurate viewpoint of the entire side (sort of like judging every liberal based on the worst SJWs you can find on Tumblr).

Pretty much this, although it's worth noting that the ONLY exposure that most people have to commercials for those kinds of radio and tv shows most of the time are from liberal comedy shows like Last Week Tonight, Daily Show, etc. Personally, I don't know for a fact whether John Oliver's Catheter Cowboy was a real thing or just a parody of those kinds of ads, nor have I particularly cared enough to find out (and, of course, whether they actually bought ad time as promised)

I love the ones that are like "The government is trying to collapse the dollar! It happened in Greece, America is next! Buy gold today!"

They're so full of shit it's hilarious.

I thought I had a joke here about limp dick pill poppin money hoarding bigots telling us how the country should be run.

Ham nitty cutting off his British corrispondent while talking about the Manchester bombing to promote Dollar Shave is my favorite (yeah this happened).
