Yu Narukami, Rikku, Kirby, and Tira have challenged Bowser to a fight! Location of the fight: Bowser's Castle - Your standard fort of Bowser's residence, as seen in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Expect lava, pitfalls and traps aplenty, although there won't be any sentient enemies such as Dry Bones or Thwomps. Attackers will start at the entrance, while defenders will start at the throne room.. Which side will win?

Guidelines
- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.

Rules for Voting
- Bold your votes (using bold HTML tags).
- You do not need to require justification for your vote, though the admins reserve the right to disqualify votes in the advent of obvious alt voting and other similar scenarios.
- Leaders cannot vote for their own teams, but they are free to argue their case.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 24 hours.

ATTACKERS:

Yu Narukami (MC) is as he appears in Persona 4. He has the persona Izanagi available, with all default skills from P4 learned in addition to all the moves from Persona 4 Arena, with the exception of his mortal blow or gameplay mechanics (invincibility frames, etc). He also can freely switch to his persona Surt, who only has their natural non-passive skills and elemental affinities.

Kirby is as seen in the Kirby Super Star and Smash series. He has full use of his Smash Brothers Moveset along with the moves from his Ice, Parasol, and Sword forms. (He has also inhaled Geese Howard and Bowser, gaining a set of moves fitting them). He cannot inhale enemy fighters nor create helpers from his abilities during the match, but can inhale anything else and will not lose access to his forms due to taking damage.

Rikku is as she appears in Final Fantasy X, equipped with Godhand and a Tercio without SOS Reflect. She has access to her own sphere grid. She has brought 5 each of Al Bhed Potion, Stamina Tablet, Chocobo Feather, Arctic Wind, and Lunar Curtain to battle and can use any combination of them with Use or her Mix Overdrive, provided sufficient Overdrive has been built. She may freely switch to her persona Isis, as it appears in Persona 4, who only has its natural non-passive skills and elemental affinities.

Tira is as she appears in Soul Calibur V, with access to all her moves, although she must charge her Critical Edge/Brave Edge moves before using them. She has called out to her flock, the watchers, to scout out the terrain. Her team will have some basic knowledge of the terrain and opponent starting positions.

DEFENDER OF JUSTICE AND TRUTH:

Bowser is as he appears in Super Smash Bros. 4, with his full moveset (except for his Final Smash and game mechanics like double jump and overshield), all of his abilities from Super Mario Galaxy, Bowser's Inside Story, and limited use of his Mario RPG spells. He may use his minion summoning techniques from Bowser's Inside Story.

Rikku also has strong healing techs with her Persona. And they have terrain knowledge and good platforming from Kirby.

SCREW IT YOU'RE GETTING IT ANYWAY

The King is dead. After suffering two embarrassing defeats, Bowser is not a turtle that comes into battle without a plan. This is clearly evidenced in his various new plans and dozens of successful sneak attacks on the Mushroom Kingdom: Bowser is a plotter and a schemer. And the one thing he can always, ALWAYS rely on is the intervention of heroes.

Before the fight, he will ask the opposition to talk. Bowser LOVES talking, and you know who loves to listen to people talk? Yu Narukami AND Kazuma Kiryu Suspecting a trap, they will advise their team not to attack. Tira will, of course, attack, and will be met with a Koopa Troopa. The Koopa will be brutally murdered, likely bisected by her blade hoop. This is an immediate turn-off, as Kiryu canonically does not like crazy chicks. Bowser, in a fake offering of peace (as he has done with various cakes delivered to the princess that have turned out to be traps and invitations to tennis tournaments) will manage to turn Tira’s team against her. She will be incapacitated - not KILLED necessarily, but incapacitated - until everyone is able to have their talk.

It is then that Bowser will reveal the INFINITE number of Goombas and Koopa Troopas in his clown copter, with a few likely paraded behind him. It is here that Bowser will reveal that these are all completely sentient creatures and not just magical minions, with their own families and backstories. Rikku and Kiryu will both be reminded of their deep family ties and the many bonds they have made. Bowser’s minions, shown in Bowser’s Inside Story, are so obsessively loyal to him that they are willing to die if it has even a chance of his plan succeeding, as demonstrated in several encounters (I believe the Fawful Express is one, but it’s been some time since I’ve played BiS). The Koopa Kingdom lives for Bowser, he is a symbol of their hopes, and they would do anything for them.

Bowser will tell the enemy that if he is beaten here, hope in his kingdom will die. And to demonstrate, all of the Koopas and Goombas will begin killing themselves, of their own volition. He will ask for a peaceful surrender, and will ‘incapacitate’ them. I have given a psychological analysis of each in order to best understand:

Yu - Yu cares about his friends. Nothing matters more to Yu than a bond. In fact, as demonstrated in his confrontation with Shadow Yu in the OVA at the end of the original Persona 4: The Animation, Yu’s greatest fear and inner demon is watching all of the bonds he’s made drift apart and die. There is no way Yu will be able to fight Bowser, knowing that he will cut off the bonds of literally infinite people. Yu will drop his sword and decide that he can win a fight another day, when today, there is the chance of friendship and redemption.

Kiryu - Judgement Kazzy is an idiot. This is a man who, when an immigrant asked him for a “bizza”, knowing that she wanted to escape the country and in the context of her needing it to escape the country and that it was the most important thing for her to have, instead of getting her a visa, proceeds to go to the local burger joint. He then asks them for a pizza because he assumes that a western food joint will sell Italian food. Feeling extreme pity, the cashier calls a pizza place for him and has the pizza delivered to him. He then remembers that the pizza is not for him but, in fact, for the immigrant who he thinks needs it to escape the country. He delivers the pizza to her and she has gotten better at pronunciation so she tells him she actually does want a visa. She attempts to buy her way out of the country to her pimp with the pizza, and he asks her “who would be stupid enough to think this?” Kiryu’s response is to go “oh no, everything has gone to shit, and it’s all because of my pizza”. This is a CANONICAL sequence with no player influence. Good Guy Kiryu is simply too dumb to solve this. He will forfeit.


Tira - Tira is already incapacitated.

Rikku - Rikku is a good girl who does good things. Thinking of the great discrimination her people have faced, as well as all of the families that would be ruined, Rikku will ‘live and let live’. Additionally, Bowser can summon lightning in Mario Galaxy. Rikku is scared of lightning.

Kirby - Kirby’s mind is infantile. His understanding of the world is minimal, and he will rely on the help of his friends for guidance. If this is impossible, Bowser has one last trick up his sleeve: Terrorize. Terrorize is a minor damaging spell in Super Mario RPG that he has limited access to. It does a small amount of damage and inflicts all foes with Fear. Kirby has not truly experienced fear before. With his naive mind, he has looked down cosmic horrors without a blink of an eye. But this, the process of millions dying because of his action, whether he knows it or not, brings him fear. P-puyo indeed.

Faced with this resounding conclusion, there is NO CHOICE but to surrender to Bowser. He will then drown them in infinite goombas. And set the goombas on fire because he’s an asshole.

Alternatively, if Bowser is canon to Super Mario Galaxy, he manages to survive falling into a star. Not just any star - a star in the center of the universe. Bowser is shown, after being forcibly knocked out of gravity by luma’s anti-gravity spin, falling into a star’s lava. After a Grand Star is removed and gravity begins sucking everything, including his son and an airship fleet, into oblivion, Bowser manages to stomp out of the lava. Considering that Bowser’s body can resist a black hole, there is nothing that his opponents can do to take him down in a timely manner. Bowser only ever loses to his own traps or to getting super gassed. Full health full power Bowser? Not a chance of survival.

(my character naming format is great)) has maxed stats in p4g and his rank 5 'understanding' and 'knowledge' sees through this NEFARIOUS bowser scheme who might i mention is very good at elaborate evil plots but not good enough for GREATDUDE BIGMAN who studies at home alot and has alot of friends to reiterate his core values

and thus greatdude bigman slays the nefarious bowser just in case this short story needed clarification.
