Wait, what? Thought I stepped into a time machine since we had a topic about this not that long ago, I thought. I'm just surprised he's still purg'd since it feels like 2 weeks now.

Granted, Mead has stepped up to bat to take over the random Trump bashing.

From my limited knowledge of purgatory, it can last anywhere from 30 - 90 days depending on how much the admin hates you. So he has at least another 2 weeks, maybe (likely) more.

To be fair, now that he has a purg and at least one recent suspension on his account history, mods will tend to be harsher with punishments for him in the future (at least until they clear).

Meaning that, if people can keep baiting him into offensive or flaming posts, then multiple people mark him for them, there's a distinct chance PotD could get him banned for good.

As others have pointed out, though, he'd probably just make a new account. And then claim he got himself banned on purpose to finally pay off on his old debt so people have to stop calling him a welcher.

Its obvious to anybody he just wanted me(or anybody) to respond inappropriately. You can tell because he grossly oversimplified the situation and as usual was incorrect about what he was saying.

I can't help but suspect it was something else.

I can't help but suspect it was something else.

There is a warning, which is 10KL and 3 day suspension. Purgatory is after that, then a ban.

A lot of it has to do with re-occuring things. If it was the first time he was trolling, then yea a 3KL is probably all he would get. If it keeps happening, then eventually they are going to put him in Purgatory.

Okay fair enough. I never know where the line is. I have absolutely gotten multiple 3KL penalties before. They must not have been in close enough succession to merit a warn.

How close do the 3KLs have to be from one another to trigger a warning?

To be fair, "talking down to somebody" is literally flaming. Which the mods have always gone after when they notice it.

Doing it multiple times in a single topic when his account history was a little spotty probably resulted in multiple moderations that eventually added up to purg. Because that makes it look less like he just made an insulting comment off the cuff once, and more that he's repeatedly abusing the same person multiple times, bordering on harassment.

My guess is that someone basically went through that topic and marked every single post he made where he was being a bit of an asshole, and they all got modded one after the other (possibly even by different mods), so by the time they got to the last couple it looked like he was a serial offender so he got the worst punishment.

Yea, I do have them mixed up a bit. I haven't been warned in years so my memory is a little fuzzy on it.

You get suspended before you get purged. I have seen seemingly more cases lately where somebody gets suspended and then ends up only with a warning, but I think that would be a moderator "mistake". AFAIK mods have always been able to directly warn people, and so a suspension was intended to be more severe than a warning.
