Perhaps the mods actually saw his posts not just talking down to somebody but trolling, which is what they were.
Its obvious to anybody he just wanted me(or anybody) to respond inappropriately. You can tell because he grossly oversimplified the situation and as usual was incorrect about what he was saying.

But even I've been marked for trolling several times, and worst case scenario was 3 karma loss. IIRC there's even a step between 3KL and straight purgatory, like maybe a day suspension or something like that.
I can't help but suspect it was something else.
There is a warning, which is 10KL and 3 day suspension. Purgatory is after that, then a ban.
A lot of it has to do with re-occuring things. If it was the first time he was trolling, then yea a 3KL is probably all he would get. If it keeps happening, then eventually they are going to put him in Purgatory.
