As for which game would be next in the pipeline, Katano told us that it would be largely determined by the response from fans: "We really have to hear their voices on that, if they want to see a remake or a remaster of a certain game then that's more likely to be the one we go for."

"I've personally been working at Square Enix for 20 years now and I've got a lot of memories from that time. I think the way that we look at it is not the game that [we] would like to remake it's really down to what the players, the fans, want to see."

I would like to see Star Trek: Enterprise remade by Square Enix. It would be a fantastic turn-based tactical RPG. You would have your central base of operations (the Enterprise), and you would embark on storyline quests that all interweave with the narrative of stopping the time war in the first few seasons of Enterprise. All of the characters would be de-aged to 16-23 of course in order to fit into the Square Enix design sensibility. And the primary protagonist would be MAYWEATHER, the young, bright-eyed protagonist searching for his role in the future of a young humanity as it forays into space. MAYWEATHER will have a love interest in T'Pol, who will now have longer hair and often have sharp intakes of breath in order to denote her innocence. MAYWEATHER will be learning from his captain, the grizzled old veteran Cid Archer, who has a scar over one eye. His friends, all with spiky hair, serve in various roles throughout the crew.

The final battle will see the return of Lightning Farron to consoles around the world.

man, i legit don't know how a mobile version of a PC MMO would work. the mechanics would need to change a ton to fit not just the userbase difference, the genre difference, but the usage difference too. i figure.... if you just focus on the storyboard and work around that, key plot points, events, etc, you'd get yourself a game that you can work with in single player. but as a mobile version.... what would that be?

The top three things I want to see:

A remake of Final Fantasy 6 with either 3D graphics or a completely remade from the ground up 2D sprite experience. I know Japan mostly hated this game but the West loves it and we'd really appreciate it. Especially with voice acting, maybe? Hell, I wouldn't even mind the Shakespearean dialogue (actually I'm probably one of the few Westerners that loves it) but I'd also love some of the Woolsey dialogue kept intact, too - but beggars can't be choosers.

A version of FF11 made to be singleplayer, with the game balanced around this and additional plotlines involving party members added in. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they went with the .hack route (with the other party members being "real life" people knowing that they're playing an MMO), but I imagine some people would mind this so it'd probably be best not to do it. Oh, also, tone down the grinding significantly by making it easier to gain levels.

Final Fantasy 9 getting a remake. I was tempted to say FF8 instead, but to be honest, I like FF9 slightly more, and I think FF9 would work best.
