Change back is still change.

Honestly, looking at a bunch of elections and referendum over the past few years one common thing I've seen is that people want change. Whether it's Brexit and Trump or Macron and Trudeau all of those things campaigned for change.

Even the election in my province earlier this month had the Green party double in support (still 16% though) because they campaigned for change and now they potentially get to decide who governs due to a minority government.

Without having read about it, that's probably the point of contention. And I'd say, that if Giuliani wrote him a legal memo giving legal advice, then he pretty clearly was acting as his attorney, at least for the purpose of preparing this memo, at least in my opinion.

She also got the most votes, but yeah sure "election of change".

Maybe for the electors, I guess, or if you count states as people??

I have talked to tons of voters who picked Trump just because they figured "something had to change", not even naming specifics.

I have said this millions of times, but most people do not care/know anything about policies or details. They just want someone they feel is gonna change things or who they can relate to. Running any campaign on "this is fine, we'll tweak it" is a mistake, strategically, unless people are extremely satisfied and happy. I have literally talked to people that voted Trump just because they thought it would be a middle finger to people telling us things are fine.

it needs to be understood that voters are not logical, not happy, and not informed. and that the reason for this is cultural, by design, and purposeful. angry, ignorant reactionaries who just keep waffling between two center-right parties expecting a change is perfect for those that benefit from nothing changing.

Obama promised big changes, won popular support, and...absolutely did not change Washington whatsoever and was just another neolib. Trump promised to drain the swamp, and then filled his staff with swamp people, and has been largely just a much more incompetent neo-con administration. The desire for change is real, but our system is by design extremely averse to change.

Then perhaps the problem is that it does count for nothing, and that is something that we should fix.

After all, what's happening is that some people's votes count more than others, in less populated states that happen to have a large volume.

This might be a democratic republic, but the democracy is limited by a system that seems designed to give more voting power to less dense states.

Thus, it is an unbalanced democracy.

Sorry, it wasn't Spicer that said what I said earlier, it was acting solicitor general Jeffery Wall to a judge in the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this month

The judges also asked Wall if the administration has been able to review the vetting procedures since Trump issued the first travel ban in late January.

"What we have been doing since January 27 is just litigating this order," Wall replied.

It's a nonpartisan group that was founded by two US senators, a Democrat AND a Republican, has been around for years, has been used in this very topic series as source for funding citations, and is very reputable.

And it's not flashy or exciting like Russia, so this shit doesn't get picked up by the news.
