Just finished playing through shadow of mordor which while not anime related almost feels like playing lord of the rings code geass addition as you mind control your way to power in the enemy army. It feels great to stealth brand a bunch of people and then slowly stroll in and activate the brands so they all turn and betray the people next to them and then force all your branded soldiers to suicide right after and then casually stroll through the enemy camp littered with all their corpses without ever lifting a finger. Feels good.

Unfortunately now I'm back where I started, not sure what to play. I want a good action rpg that isn't so short but I guess shadow of mordor scratched my action itch a bit so maybe I'll just look more broadly at rpgs in general. Still 3 weeks or so till the current anime season ends and I can start watching.

Yeah that got to me to, I think the fact that despite a lot of the show being set around fantasy (the whole time-leap thing) the fact that Hinazuki's situation was a very realistic one really made it hit home for me

I'm through 20 episodes of my re-watch of Re: Zero and I honestly think I'm enjoying it more than I did first time around, I still find 13 and 16 very "ehhhhh" to watch but 18 and onwards is really good stuff (18 is also the episode that really cemented Rem as best girl for me too)

This is nuts the way there are four lives depending on him (including Yuuki). They're great characters and I like all four of them, but Kayo is easily the one I care most about.

Yeah it is a shame that I have to wait longer but thats a trade I'm willing to make for more eps. Theres quite a few things that look interesting and even if half of em end up being crap that still leaves me with plenty. I'm almost thankful that season isn't over right now though because I'm really just not in anime mood at all. Much more about games right now even though I can't find anything I want to play which is unfortunate.

So I finished my re-watch of Re: Zero, I really did end up enjoying it more this time around, I really do hope for another season though as there's still a lot of unanswered questions like if Subaru really is Pride and who the other sins are too, then there's the whole royal selection plotline too and just who Satella is and... yeah lots of things

Anyway I've decided to re-watch Toradora next since it's been a while since I saw it, on the games side of things I've been playing Tekken 7 on my PC pretty much every day since it launched last week, it's good stuff and since I hadn't touched the series since 6 I've had to spend a long time re-training myself since I was very rusty at it lol

Finished Erased. The last few episodes certainly dipped in quality and felt rushed, but still good. Overall I'd give it at least 8/10, maybe more just because Hinazuki's arc was so damn strong.

I also checked out the MAL episode discussion forums and MY GOD, THE SALT. From the complaints of Kayo not waiting for Satoru (which, while disappointing, was totally understandable and realistic), to the general complaints of things cut from the manga (which was unavoidable for 12 episodes; they should have just shot for more). I think it ended nicely enough, and that he managed to earn his final reward with Airi.

I think the show worked out well enough even if it did get weak in the end; the main thing is to just keep in mind that the anime and manga are two different things. I'll have to check out the manga as well though; it's being released in English so I'll probably just buy it.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think Erased would be fantastic as a visual novel. All the different routes and timelines lends itself more to that medium. It would have all the content of the manga and probably more, plus the fantastic soundtrack from the show, plus gorgeous detailed artwork.

MH 5 is on PS4...whatever, Xone....whatever, and PC!!!!!!! Life is worth living again! Also its called monster hunter: world for whatever reason but it is the next mainline title, not a spinoff.

Looks visually nice, a bunch of new shitty gimmicks that hopefully will be forgettable. Damage numbers... can use items while move......grappling hook like toukiden.....stealth mechanics....some sort of HBG chaingun special move......Huh. Very cautious about this. Hopefully it's great and also that the PC port isn't as shitty as every PC port from japan ever is (they literally never fixed neir: automata. Its literally broken for thousands of players including myself and they never fixed it or even made a single post on the steam forums).

Lets see what else. No more loading screens, so no more areaing out to heal. All 14 weapons are back (no prowler from what I can tell). Drop-in/drop-out multiplayer. Some returning monsters. Some new monsters. No word on any new weapon types. A few new items. Mounting is more dynamic (it rams you into things). Gathering doesn't require you to stop moving. Destructible environmental hazards that can hurt the monsters (and presumably you as well). More info to be revealed soon.

So I'm busting through the seasonal anime I fell behind with last season,

Gabriel Dropout was alright. It felt like a low energy Yuru Yuri. To me, I think the comedic pacing was too slow, and the deliveries nothing special; So together, it's often hurting. Not to say that the show wasn't funny.

Seiren is the spiritual successor to Amagami SS, and it's scrutinized for not being up to snuff. Really, only the last arc/girl was actually good. There isn't a season 2 announced if it's coming at all because of the bad reception (to it's first two arcs). I will say that I wouldn't mind a season 2 if it's arcs were at least as good as the last arc.

All Out, is now my first ever definitive drop. A sports anime with nothing special going for it. People have said the same thing about Prince of Stride, but at least that show had an interesting color palette to tide you through it's general mediocrity.

Can also discuss this season as it's wrapping up if anyone wants. I'll make a post about it soon enough.

Gabriel Dropout is great because of Gabriel and Satania and just the premise of angels and demons having a friendly rivalry. The Satania bullying is so good but kinda sad :(

Seiren was kinda just there. Tbh the only girl and arc I was super into was the first. Tsuneki had a very sexy, mischievous personality and that made it fun. Middle girl was pretty good and last girl was so damn plain.

What are you watching this season?

You know I realised I hadn't actually mentioned what I was waiting to watch this season so here is my (long) list:

-Season 2 of Attack on Titan
-Season 2 of Boku no Hero Academia (really looking forward to it since the first was great)
-Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism (looks like it could be good)
-New Berserk (I held off on watching the first part so it'll be all new to me)
-Clockwork Planet
-Eromanga sensei
-Quan Zhi Gao Shou (A.k.a King's Avatar) it's been making some waves and it peaked my interest
-Re Creators
-Renai Boukun
-Rokudenashi Majutsu
-Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata S2 (I've been waiting forever for this! I loved the first season of it)
-Sagrada Reset
-Seikaisuru Kado
-Shingeki no Bahamut S2 (wasn't expecting a S2 of this one, the first was decent though)
-Tsugumomo

Phew, I think that's about it, I don't know how good/bad some of this will be but so long as none of them are as bad as the Akiba's trip adaption it should be all okay

I don't see Sakura Quest there. It's my AOTS. It's Shirobako+Hanasaku Iroha, stars 5 grown up girls. A hell lot of themes relatable for people in their 20's.

Sagrada Reset clearly demonstrates why shows very rarely star two main characters who are both super stoic; It's really boring. I would not recommend this show unless you're the kind of person who can get really interested in powers/abilities.
