To be honest, this contest is almost my favorite one ever. It really makes us all think about how games and the industry affected us as each year went by.

I really wish it was promoted more. We might be able to promote it still, for the later matches. This is a great way of looking back at the industry, and incorporates everything: consoles, games, characters, rivalries, and innovation in all aspects.

@CooLJaY2kay4 I really like the idea of this contest. A great way to reminisce about various games while having a cool team contest. It sucks most of the matches so far have been whatever and there was the whole pic controversy but it looks like Quarterfinals and onward could have some fun matches.

During the 2013 contest, we had site alerts (visible to all site visitors) for the final 4 matches of the contest. I hope we at least get a site alert for the final match to see how much it can boost vote totals.

Regarding the SNES, the last thing I did last night was take a picture of the SNES controller and submit it for the system. Similar to your idea, but a lot more simplistic.

Don't forget that Kirby's Dream Land 3 came out in 1997, so it could draw in some SNES audience votes for a year that otherwise gets dominated by N64.
