Have you used this website?

They lured me with a groupon after I price shopped, then when I get to the checkout the shipping is expensive and there's a separate handling fee. I hate when shopping prices isn't clear and transparent up front.

Also, the website flip flopped from mobile to desktop without reason, and that's just annoying.

Ugh, me too. I hate it that taxes aren't included into prices here in the States. Sure, the math isn't that hard to figure out, but it's annoying to have to keep doing.

If you are shipping for mother's day, that is extra expensive. Being that it is a Sunday AND a holiday. That is not Pro Flower's fault, it costs them a ton to ship on that day.

As for the extra fee's, every site does that.

I wouldn't know, I don't shop there on mobile.

I did buy for Mother's Day but I'm not having flowers delivered on Mother's Day - to avoid the extra $15+ fee.

Also, I didn't even include the taxes in my description of disappointment. I'm upset for extra rediculous charges like 'handling' that should be a part of the base price. Also, if I'm planing to purchase and give a delivery date of June 1st (which I did for another occasion) then they could totally use some extra cheep USPS shipping instead of their over priced service for a bear, a card, and a box of chocolates.

Had I known about the extra fees, I would NOT have been surprised by the final price that only shows up at the last stage (of 5) during checkout. Sadly, they got my money today, but NEVER again.

Dude, they're flowers. They can't just be shipped like a book or a dildo. They require special care otherwise you get fucked up flowers.

Like, come on man. I've never used proflowers nor do I have any desire to, but I can't imagine any other flower places are any better on shipping.

i would imagine shipping for flowers and shit would be expensive anyways, because it's not going to be handled by UPS or fedex. it's going to be a company that's able to ship that stuff, and be able to manage it on the way to your destination.

That's.. Not how it works. Those flower companies contract out to local florists to make the bouquets and deliver. They don't ship them like a package.

So what? Companies always use hyperbole to sell their products.

Did you read what I said? Extra handling for a bear, chocolates, and a card. Delivered June 1st.

I don't need a local florist for such a delivery, but I don't want to spend more money on their stuff. I just wanted to use the rest of my groupon money and be done, but the extra expenses made that plan a no-go.

It's not about being cheap. It's about transparency in pricing. You get to the final step in checkout and suddenly the ledger is more than double what you expected.

oh man, like taxes when buying things in a physical store?

but in that case, it just costs the gas it took to go there, and then state/county tax.

that's different though, right? how come the store didn't tell you how much gas it would take to get there, or change the prices on their products to reflect the tax?

No. People should be striving to make things better, not choosing a bad option over a good option because "everyone else does it."

TC doesn't seem to understand how flower delivery companies work though, this isn't a bunch of obsurce hidden fees, it is two charges for common sense services for a fragile product being quickly shipped by mail and being hand delivered to the recipient

He had a coupon for the price of the flowers, but that doesn't cover the shipping or delivery. They have to pay a deliver person after all, should they get paid less because a coupon was used?

All the charges should be included in the price of the item, up front, without showing up at the last stage of your purchase. The charges are guaranteed to be there, therefor they should not be hidden.

Also, the gas charge analogy is the worst comparison I've heard in a long while, but I've been avoiding online philosophers for a long time also.

but no company online ever does this

why do you think a flower company would? delivery charges and other charges could be totally dependent on the state you're buying in and where they're being delivered.
